Advantages: cheap and it works
Disadvantages: none whatsoever!
My mum always used to use Oil of Olay when I was little so I never wanted to use it as a teenager. But when I got older I realised that there was a reason for her to use it.
The cream is pretty cheap at around £4 for 100 ml. It lasts for ages too. I use mine every morning and buy a new bottle about every 4 months. That’s not a lot of money for something you use daily I think!
The bottle is a light pink with a black cap and looks slightly old fashioned but in a nice way. The cream itself is also light pink and has a very light flowery scent as you put it on. It glides on smoothly and is not too thick or greasy, so perfect for day time or as a base for your makeup. It is very easily absorbed too and doesn’t leave your face looking shiny.
The cream makes your skin feel very smooth and it is light so doesn’t cause any spots or other skin troubles. There is a newer version out now which contains SPF 15. This is great as it is difficult to remember to put on SPF every day like you are supposed to according to experts (yes even in winter!). If you use this you don’t have to think about it and you are automatically protected from the sun’s rays.
I haven’t had any problems with allergy with this product but as with everything I would recommend that you get a sample first to see if it is right for you. I think if you have very dry skin you might need something heavier than this too but for everybody else I would recommend at least a try!
Summary: Nice, cheap day cream for (nearly) everybody!

- 12/11/06 I started using this when I was about 13, and still use it now at 28 (although I have recently "upgraded" to the anti-UV version). It is gentle yet effective and good value for money. |
