Advantages: easy to apply, quick results, gentle yet effective
Disadvantages: hard to read ingredients on the pot
At 56 years of age I've only recently realised the importance of looking after my face so have been religiously cleansing, toning & moisturising plus using some anti-aging round-the-eye anti-wrinkle cream. All this sounds very time-consuming but for a couple of minutes every morning & night I think I'm pretty pleased with the (slow) results?
Unfortunately, last night, I was so tired that I think I overdid it with the eye cream & this morning I had to peer in the mirror to see where my eyes were!
My eyelids & under the eyes was really puffy & I looked like something from another planet so I hastily looked for some cucumber to slice & pop on each lid but, to my dismay, the last of the cucumber had been used over Easter.
I had a bit of a ponder & rembered I'd bought a little pot of Olay Eye Contour Gel from Boots just after Christmas & thankfully applied it & it made a real difference within a few minutes thank goodness.
The pot looks extremely small at 5ml but actually lasts quite some time as you only need to apply a tiny bit so it's well worth the £6.99 I paid for it.
It's a clear fragrance-free good textured gel which feels soothing yet nourishing around the eye area.
It looks like a glass pot but is actually a rigid clear plastic one with a smart screw top lid. Once opened it's just a matter of gently dotting it where you need it - nature seems to do the rest.
It's easily absorbed & there's no trace of oil or grease. It doesn't feel 'heavy' on the eyes as some similar products do so I must conclude that it's a good gel.
The ingredients are listed on the reverse of the jar but are extremely difficult to read as the print is so tiny & the container is clear - but I can tell you that amongst other things it conatins cucumber & witch hazel which are both known to be soothing & natural ingredients. Had I not thrown the box away I could have provided the whole list - but, if you're like me, you probably wouldn't recognise them all unless you have a chemistry degree?
All I can say is that the gel worked well for my puffiness & I shall make sure I keep it in a convenient place in case I ever overdo the eye cream again!
