Advantages: Soft, smooth skin with no greasiness
Disadvantages: For me, the smell, but many people love it
I bought this moisturiser initially as a stop-gap when I ran out of my usual (much more expensive) moisturiser, but it's since replaced the other moisturiser altogether. A 100ml bottle is currently priced at £4.69 in Boots, but I got my 200ml bottle on offer at Morrisons for just under £5, bargain!
It's a daily facial moisturiser which Olay say has been specially designed to give your skin everything it needs most to help maintain and improve the healthy look of your skin. It contains nourishing Olay moisture to give lasting hydration, SPF15 broad spectrum sun protection to help prevent premature skin damage, and skin pampering vitamins to retexturise and promote and maintain healthy looking skin, all in a non-greasy formula. The result, they claim, is healthy looking skin in just 5 days.
It comes in a semi-opaque plastic bottle, which allows you to see how much is left, with a black screw on lid. The lid fastens very securely so there's no chance of any spills even if it got knocked about in a bag or suitcase when travelling. The bottle is squeezable, allowing you to easily get the moisturiser out, but it can sometimes be hard to get out only what you need and not end up with more than you wanted.
The moisturiser itself is a creamy lotion with a smooth consistency, and that familiar creamy Olay smell. It feels cool and smooth on the skin, and it spreads easily meaning a little goes a long way. It sinks into the skin nicely and leaves it feeling soft and smooth without any greasiness at all. The main thing that usually disappoints me with cheap moisturisers is that they either make my skin feel really greasy or don't feel like they're moisturising it at all, but this one strikes a perfect balance, making my skin feel really well hydrated and comfortable without being greasy or feeling clogged. Another good point for me is that the scent disappears once the lotion has sunk into my skin, as I can't stand being able to smell my moisturiser
The results this gives last all day and at no point during the day does my skin begin to shine like an oil slick, or start looking dry on the areas of my face that are prone to dryness. It also feels really soft and smooth and comfortable all day long, more so than with any other moisturiser I have used previously.
As for the claims that it will leave your skin looking healthy in just 5 days, well, I'm not entirely convinced. My skin looks pretty healthy anyway, and I can't say I saw a major difference within the first 5 days of use. However, over the first month I was using it I did notice that the condition of my skin had improved and it did look generally more healthy, with a new kind of glow about it and a generally more even texture. The long-term results are definitely worth waiting for.
Overall I'm extremely pleased with this moisturiser, as you've probably already guessed! My 200ml bottle has lasted me 3 months and I'm not even half way through the bottle yet, so at £4.69 for 100ml you're definitely getting value for money. I can't see me changing to another moisturiser for a very long time!
Summary: A fantastic cheap moisturiser that beats all the expensive brands hands down!
