Advantages: really thorough cleaning

Disadvantages: can be pricey

A few months ago I wouldn't have touched these with a bargepole: A few tissues coated with soap in a huge imposing box and at a disproportionate cost.

Retailing between £6.00 and £7.00, they really were a tad overpriced.

It seems that Oil of Olay have finally come to their senses as I keep seeing them on offer everywhere I go. They are currently priced at £2.99 at Superdrug and that's much more my cup of tea.

There are two types depending on your skin type. Being a dried up old minx myself, I went for the normal to dry ones.

So, now I've tried them and I must say I'm rather impressed. I did a kind of blind testing and didn't look at my reflection until I'd finished! I was wearing make-up and had had a long day in London so couldn't have been much grimier.

I followed the directions, taking one towelette out of the box. It feels dry to the touch, as you add water when you want to use it rather than risking it dry out in the pack if you don't use it quick enough.

The tissue is quite unusual, perforated and quite small - about half the size of a normal tissue. Also it's crossed between material and kitchen towel.

It lathers up very well and you wash your face like you would with a flannel.

I was amazed that it didn't make my eyes sting and felt nice and soft. As I wasn't going to look in the mirror until I was done, I made sure my whole face had had a good going over!

All done.

then...

Ta Da!

I took a peak, expecting panda eyes and streaks of make-up.

BUT NO!

Not a trace of eye make-up, no redness and no tight feeling. Now that's pretty good coming from a right fuss pot!

I still don't like the box as it's quite bland and takes up a lot of room, but I might just take a few of the tissues in my sponge bag when I next go away.

If you were thinking of trying them at all - ther
e's no better time to pick some up than now - so make sure you get a bargain!

These sound really good, but definitely one to buy when it's on offer!

Its amazing how quickly all the manufacturers jumped on the band wagon with these facial cleansing cloths. I wonder what the next fad will be!
