Advantages: Cleans well, Easy to use

Disadvantages: No Moisturiser, Pricey without deals

After years and years of just ignoring all the beauty products out there I thought it was about time I got into the habit of using something that would give me nice clean heathly skin....

Back when I was younger I used all that cleanser toner moisturiser stuff, but found it a pain to get all the bottles and cotton puffs and such forth, so gave up on the whole idea! I stuck to good old hot water and trusty flannel with the occasional dollop of moisturiser when needed as soap wasn't any good on my skin. This worked a treat, and was alot cheaper and less clutter than the other way, but as time has taken its effect, I found my face getting drier and greasier in places... not to flakey leper or acne proportions but enough for me to notice! So I thought it was time for me to try a new approach. Tesco had a special offer, buy two Olay daily facials for £6.... I thought that sounds good to me, so I shoved them in the basket and tried one out that night.

I got the combination/oily clarifying ones as these were the ones on offer, but noticed they did dry/sensitive ones and normal ones too in refils so I will be going for the dry ones when my two boxes run out. There is 30 in a box so each last a month.

Once I got them out of the packaging (a mainly white cardboard sleeve with blue, silver and purple bits, and a happy woman washing her face and the fact thats these are 80% better than basic cleansing to visibly improve skin's clarity stated on the top)!

I found the box itself is quite nice nearly see through (I can't spell the proper word for it) white plastic with the Olay symbol embossed on the top and when I took the cloths out there is Olay written on the bottom of it, suppose that is to remind you to buy some more when they have all gone. The cloths are wrapped up in plastic and when I opened them I noticed the smell, or lack of it. I was expecting a strong smell but was pleasantly suprised by a soft smell that is hard to
describe, but that could be because I had a cold. Even without the cold, they don't smell of much!

It was time to try them out. I wondered how they would lather up without any sign of soapy type stuff on there, but when I got it wet and started rubbing it together, the amount of lather was suprising. It felt nice on my face and there are two different sides on this one, one that is soft for round the eyes and one thats rough for rest of face to get rid of the dead skin. I am not a great fan of the thought of flaying my face, but this wasn't too rough so I was happy. I rinsed it off by using the cloth after drenching it in water to get rid of all the lather, like it tells you to do in the picture instructions on the cardboard sleeve and the bottom of the box and thought my skin felt cleaner and softer.

The next day it proved it worked, by making a huge spot appear on my chin, a good sign I am told, but as this soon went away I am sure my skin is cleaner now as it feels better and looks almost glowing. I will still have to use the dollop of moisturiser when needed but I don't seem to need it as often as I did before.

The main ingredients are pro-vitamin B5, Beta Hydroxy and witch hazel (hence the spot). I could list all the other ones but I cant pronounce half of them let alone spell them.

All in all I am pleased with these as they are gentle enough to get rid of eye make up and as that is the only make up I ever occasionally bother with, they make my face feel really clean and they are easy to use. I would recommend them to anyone that wants a clean face and is too lazy to bother with all the different bottles and stuff, like me :o)

Also I have just found out that they are good at getting rid of face paint too....

Normally it would be a fight with my youngest son as I tried to put baby lotion on his face with a piece of cotton wool... he would always complain it was too cold! But as these can go unde
r the tap.. a bit of warm water on one of these stopped his moaning, and cleared away both his spider face and his white tiger face this week. He was even happy to do it himself as he liked the magic foaming cloth :o)

Oh yes.... one other thing.... It takes off waterproof mascara too not just the normal stuff... not that my son had mascara on!.. that was mine :oP

Take care
Sarah :o)
