Advantages: Makes a little difference

Disadvantages: Expensive, doesn't do much

I have a few wrinkles appearing around my eyes these days, and so I was very pleased to receive a free sample tube of Olay's Regenerist 30 Second Wrinkle Filler in the post after signing up to the Olay website.

The Wrinkle Filler promises to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in just 30 seconds, and this effect is supposed to last throughout the whole day. It also promises to moisturise the skin and to 'target deep wrinkles and expression lines on the forehead and around the mouth' specifically.

The Wrinkle Filler comes in a small silver tube with a narrow red nozzle on the end that allows you to squeeze out just a little of the filler. The filler is much thicker than I expected, it is like a very firm liquid foundation or concealer, and when squeezed out it maintains its shape. However as soon as you start to rub it in it becomes very supple and malleable and much more like a cream rather than a paste. Applying it to your face is a pleasant experience as it is smooth and easy to spread out.

I didn't find that this had very much of an effect on my wrinkles. It perhaps made them a little less noticeable, and it certainly moisturised them, but it didn't make them disappear. The best effects were on the most minor wrinkles, which did fade somewhat, but the deeper ones hardly seemed touched by the filler.

I also found that the filler lightened the skin due to its pale colour. As it's only available in one shade I wouldn't think it would therefore be suitable for people with darker skin tones, such as olive skinned or tanned people. However if you plan to cover it with foundation you may be ok.

I would say that this is better than using nothing at all on your wrinkles, and if yours are only very shallow and slight then it may make a good difference, but if you have deep wrinkles then you will probably need something stronger. This is the first wrinkle filler I have tried so I am not sure what else is out there, I hope there is something better though. On the other hand, I am aware that there's probably not a miracle cure!

This filler costs a huge £23.97 for a tube, though is currently on offer at Boots for £16.97 so if you want to try some then now is a good time. If this had been more affordable I would have given it 3 stars but for such a high price I would want more of a result.

Summary: Not worth the money
