Advantages: Gives you smooth, soft and refreshed skin, really moist wipes

Disadvantages: Did not exfoliate my skin, price is quite high compared to other wipes

I am quite good when it comes to my skincare routine, I wash my face and then cleanse, tone and moisturise. Recently, however I have been using my skincare wipes a lot more, they are really practical and maybe I have just got a little bit lazy! My Mum was then telling me about some wipes from the Olay range that she was using and that they were really soft and soothing on her skin. The wipes come from the Age Defying range so I did not really think about using them... Nobody wants to get old! But then my Mum informed that it is never to early to start looking after your skin so I decided to give these wipes ago, after all I do love the Olay range.


I brought the Wipes from Boots for the price of £4.95; this also gained me a few more advantage card points (4 for every £1.00 you spend). Apparently my Mum brought hers on a 3 for the price of 2 deals but I was not so lucky with my timing. The wipes are quite expensive if you compare then to other cleansing wipes but then I always find that Olay products are slightly more expensive compared to other brands so I was prepared for the cost.


The wipes come in attractive looking packaging. The main colour of the plastic recyclable wrapper is black but the lettering is in gold with a few dashes of purple on the packet, it looks great sat on my bathroom shelf! The front of the packet has the Olay logo on it as well as the promise that these cleansing cloths will not only cleanse and exfoliate but that they will fight the first signs of ageing.


The back of the packet contains a great deal of information. Not just your usual ingredient listings and directions for use but it gives you the 7 tips to fight the first signs of ageing:

~ Helps reduce the appearance of fine lines
~ Improves surface dullness giving skin a radiant healthy looking glow
~ Helps to smooth skin texture - visibly and to the touch
~ Helps reduce the appearance of pores by deep cleansing
~ Exfoliates to reveal newer looking skin at the surface
~ Helps to reveal an even skin tone
~ Hydrates and softens skin


With all those promises these wipes certainly have a lot to live up to. So I went onto open them and give them a go. The wipes are removed from the packet by opening the self-seal peel label on the front. This self-seal cover does actually work and the wipes stay fresh and moist.


The pack contains 25 wipes and each individual wipe is about 16.5cm by 19 cm when they are fully opened. The first thing that I noticed when removing the wipes from the packet is that they are really moist, almost wet but certainly not dripping. There is a slight fragrance to these wipes, when I looked at the ingredient listing I think this is the Citronellol, making the wipes have a slight fragrance but a good one as opposed to something to chemical.


You need to wipe the cloth all around your face and neck area and I have to say that I had no irritation to my skin whilst using it. The wipe stayed moist as I was using it so I felt that I did get good value for my money. The wipe left my skin feeling really soft and it did fell really cleansed however I don't think that you could say the wipes really exfoliate.


To see if the wipes do meet all of their promises I think you would need to use them on a regular and possible daily basis so it would not be fair if me to comment on he age defying part of the wipes. The wipes though, in my opinion are a great find and do leave your skin really refreshed and really cleansed.


In summary, I would have no hesitation in recommending these wipes. They do work and most importantly they leave your skin really clean. Even with the slightly expensive price tag attached to them I am still tempted to go back and buy more.

4 out of 5 from me would have been 5 but I don't think these wipes really exfoliate.
