Advantages: cheap, it really works!
Disadvantages: Couldn't imagine something
Note: English is a foreign language for me- don't be furious about my mistakes! No, Olays secret is not a brand new product made by Olay (in some countries, the brand name is Olay, Oil of Olaz or Oil of Olay I don't know why there are so many different names for o n e company.). However, Olay was the trusted name for my mother, she used the Classic Fluid many yerars ago (do you remember, this fresh pink fluid with the irresistible smell *g*). After that, the series Revital, Special Care und Complete came on the market. Total Effects is the start into the new Olay future. But there is also another new product from Olay: Touch. A new fresh product in a new noble typical Olay style. I researched some more information about this product (the homepage of Olay offers poor information) and found the article from Rita [RitafromRSA] on dooyoo.co.uk (-> Read her article as well!). In her excellent statement Rita wrote that many ingredients of Touch and (the much more expensive) Total effects are similar. That was an interesting point for me; Touch costs about 13 Swiss Franks, Total Effects 40 Swiss Franks (!). So I spent more than 6 hours to compare and contrast the ingredients of Touch and Total Effects. Furthermore, I searched explications for the scientific language (<<Aluminium Starch Octenylsuccinate Titanium Dioxide>> etc. are quite difficult words, aren't they? *g*). After a long time, I came to the conclusion that Rita was right! The essential ingredients Vitamin B5 (Panthenol) and Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate) are in the same quantity in both products, Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) has in Touch nearly the same concentration as in Total Effects! Touch [Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Octocrylene, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid] has another Sunscreen system than Total Effects [Titanium Dioxide]. Therefore some names on the ingredient list are different. Each
product has different emulsifying agents. But don't forget; the emulsifying agents have to do with the consistence of the product (if it is liquid, creamy...), less with the active substances (which are responsible for the product results). Some of the emulsifying agents that are only contained in Total Effects are Sodium Palmitate (Palm oil), Sucrose Cocoate, Tocopherol or Sucrose Polycottonseedate. All in all I can say that Olay Touch is the cheap alternative to Total Effects. And that means that Touch is not only gentle to your skin, but to your finances as well. Ps.: Up until now I didn't say anything if Olay Touch is worth money or not. Believe me- really it is! It takes only few days, and Olay Touch makes your skin so much silkier and softer. The skin absorbs the fluid rapidly and there is no (oily) shine on your skin. But the most amazing thing is that your skin gets not only softer, but a healthier look as well (a friend of mine thought I was on holiday). Without exaggerating I can say that this is the best moisturiser I ever used- until now these were numerous (ask my mother again * g *). - 30/10/02 Wow - your english as a second language is better than mine as a first! Brilliant stuff.
My mum never used any beauty products apart from Oil of Ulay. No make up, nothing, just that cream. Funny really!
Welcome to the site, there's lots to read and write about, look forward to reading more from you.
