Advantages: Helps stop you cutting yourself

Disadvantages: The dispenser becomes clogged easily

I have been shaving all my adult life (odd that don't you think?) and to be honest, I hate it. I have tried many different razors and shaving cremes etc, but having quite sensitive skin, I always end up looking like Ive gone 3 rounds with next door's cat!

I came across the 'Mint Source Shaving Gel' about 18 months ago and haven't looked back since. I still hate shaving but now I have found a product which actually helps me get through it almost safely.

It comes in a green pump action can which dispenses the green gel quite generously. One drawback to the design of the tin is that the nozzle become clogged quite easily so rinsing it under that hot tap afterwards is advised.

The gel, gives quite a bulky amount of lather that applies easily and stays at the right consistency for some time. I have noticed with other gels/cremes that they tend to 'dry out' quickly making the last parts of shaving quite a chore, especially with a days growth of stubble. You don't get this so much with Mint Source and I find the whole experience a lot less challenging.

The lather gives an easy, close shave and leaves your skin feeling soft and not dry, which I tend to find with other products. Also, as the name suggests, the gel has a minty aroma and gives the skin a cool tingly feeling when applied. This can last for a short time after shaving and makes your face feel cool in the fresh air, very pleasing sensation when out in the sun.

Be careful though. I often leave the tin on the bathroom window sill (bad move) and in direct sunlight the can heats up quite quickly. If you then dispense some gel into your hand, the gel has a tendency to 'explode' sending foam all-round the bathroom. Though this is funny when this happens (and quite a shock if you are not expecting it) it does become quite a chore trying to get it off the ceiling.

Good! Now I know what to pick up if I can't find Lynx sensitive-skin after-shave gel.
