I'm a big fan of foaming cleansers: none of this arsing around with cotton wool. My sister had this before me and I loved the smell and how it felt when I used it so I thought I'd give it a go for myself. CHECKS AND BALANCES The packaging is simple, clean, and smart as is standard with Origins. It is matte but clear so you can see the creamy white product from the outside (always useful to know when you're running low). The texture of the wash is very thick, rich and creamy with a pearl element to its colour - it looks very expensive. It's not too highly scented but does have a wonderfully muted spearmint tone to it, which is great for a ... Read the complete review

The Origins Checks and Balances is a lovely face wash that I would recommend to anyone. I received it in an Origins gift set at Christmas, and have since bought some more cause it was that easy and pleasurable to use. It is a cleanser for both skin types where your skin may be oily or dry and when it's applied it soaks up the oily parts but also moisturises the dry areas. This made my skin feel so different after using it and really soft. I always use this in the morning, all you need is a tiny blob on your hand, rinsed in with warm water and then rub it together and you'll get this amazing frothy soap which you just rub in over your face ... I was given this in a gift set for Christmas 7 months ago- and its still got life yet! It just seems to last and last, its very dense so you really only need a tiny amount to wash your entire face, neck and under your chin. This product is expensive, but also value for money. It comes in a really soft matt tube, which you squeeze to use, it actually feels nice to use, and looks good in the bathroom, its minimal without looking cheap, and the matt finish gives it a quality feel. Its a white cream, and smells mildly of mint. All of the essential oils in Origins products are 100% natural, so you dont have to really worry when using this, what the scent ... ~* Origin Check and Balance *~ ~* Some background information *~ I don't have the best of skin at all. Having suffered Acne Twice within the space of four year, I honestly know how it feels to have bad skin and how much of a effect it has on you. Before I had tried Origin, I had tried so many different brand names such as the normal oxy, clearasil, Lancome, SkII, you name it, I have honestly tried it. If there was one product that I would recommend to people, it would absolutely be this. This really helped me to get rid of my spots, not once but twice. Some of you may wonder why I had stopped using it when it worked miracle for me the ... Read the complete review

Origins Checks and Balances is one of the very few cleansers designed for combination skin. Suffering with combination skin for my entire adult life, I have previously found it very hard to find a long-term cleanser which works well on both my oily and dry patches, which is where this product comes in. The cleanser itself is a light, almost fluffy consistancy and you only need a very small amount to work into a good lather. It foams nicely on the skin and washes off easily to leave the skin feeling nicely clean without feeling too dry or not clean enough. It leaves the skin feeling nicely comfortable, although I still like to use an oil free moisturiser ... Read the complete review
