Advantages: none

Disadvantages: clumsy, ice pack makes skin damp, awkward

I have been a user of of electronic epilators for over eight years and have gotten used to them or so I thought.
I decided to shift brands and try out the very snazzy Philips Satin Ice.
I wish I hadn't. I found that it was clumsy to use as you have to keep it at a right angle for it to work properly. This is not so easy behind your knees or at the ankles.
It also felt big in my hand.
The ice pack although sounding like a good idea does nothing but hinder quick hair removal. I found that the ice unit began to condense where it touches the skin and as a consequence your skin ends up damp - which when epilating is not a good idea because the hairs are then torn out rather than plucked out. I believe this was why my skin looked chickenified afterwards.
Although it claims to pluck hairs as short as half a millimetre I found that it didn't and I still had a 'down' left behind.
I took advantage of the 28 day satisfaction, or money back guarantee, and got my money back.
Back to Braun for me.

Not the dreaded chicken effect! I used a Silkepil when Braun first brought them out, my ankles still haven't forgiven me. Interesting to see the different opinions on this one. Maybe I'll give Philips a miss!

I've got this one and just assumed all epilators left some hairs behind, wish I'd seen this op before I asked for it for Xmas.
I never use the ice attachment, find it less painful without!

Yep, they hurt like hell. I've never had to do the vback of my knees though, that must be murder.
