I bought this razor after my old one, a nine-year-old Philishave HS555, finally quit working. The Philishave HQ5401 electric razor is very nice. Immediately, I noticed how well the razor fit in my hand, almost like an extension of my hand. I was amazed when shaving with this razor just how little pressure one has to use to get a close shave. It just glides across the face, and the steel of the razor does not at all cause an uncomfortable sensation.

I was somewhat worried before using it that maybe the lift and cut system would pull on my facial hair. My old razor didn't have the lift and cut heads. Well, my worry was unfounded. The lift and cut system did not at all pull on my facial hair. Instead, it did what Philishave razors do best: mow down any and all facial hair with ease. I had a two-day growth at the time of first using it, and it cut right through the hair.

The noise produced by the HQ5401 razor is also not nearly as loud as on my old razor. Actually, the razor is basically silent.

In addition to the razor, you get a coiled power cord, cleaning brush, instruction booklet, protective head cap, and a soft zippered case. It's a very nice unit. I highly recommend you buy one.
