Advantages: Absorbs quickly, light and hydrating. Great for spring/summer months.

Disadvantages: Can be drying in the autumn winter months for some skin types.

Hope in a jar is available in various skin type versions. I have used the "all skin types" version. However, there is another version for "dry, sensitive skin" so ensure that you look out for the right product for your skin type.

Therefore, this review is for the original 'all skin types' version. I have found that this product is great for the spring/summer months. I have combination skin and can be prone to break-outs if my skin doesn't agree with certain ingredients. I therefore wouldn't recommend this version for the autumn/winter time, unless you have 'oily skin'. It's very light ( and perhaps too light for some skin types on those cold or windy days ) and sinks in straight away. One of the reasons as to why this suits oilier skins so much is because it contains lactic acid which is a very mild exfoliating type ingredient which can help keep your skin clearer for longer. Those of you with drier skins, I would recommend the dry/sensitive version and for combination skins I would recommend this for the spring/summer months only. You only need a small amount so the product is quite economical but please, please, please use a spatula not your fingers to lift out the moisturiser from the jar !! There's even an spf version too for those who would like to use it as a make-up base !!

Ingredients : Water, Lauryl Lactate, Behenic Acid, Behenoxy Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Glycerin, Behenyl Alcohol, Cyclomethicone, Pentaerythrityl Tetracaprylate/Tetracaprate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Benzyl Alcohol, Retinyl Palmitate, Stearic Acid, Panthenol, Betaglucan, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Xanthan Gum, Triethanolamine, Propylene Glycol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Diazolidinyl Urea.

Summary: Try the version to suit your own skin type. The original version may not be for everyone.
