Advantages: Lovely texture, lasts a long time, feels lovely on the skin and has a positive effect on dry patches
Disadvantages: Strange aroma which some people may find unpleasant, quite expensive
I use the Philosophy hope in a jar original formula for all skin types. The moisturiser was originally created for the medical market to assist with the appearance of wrinkles, skin discolouration, rough skin and dehydration.
The product is available in 2oz (56.7g) tubs and costs approximately £35. Other sizes are available from the US and prices range from $15 for the smallest to $108 for the largest. The product is packed in an opaque tub with black lid. The jar is sealed to stop the product being tampered with.
I had seen this product for sale on HQ Hair and had read several positive reviews, however the cost of the product had put me off purchasing it. Whilst in Sephora in USA earlier this year I saw a 0.5oz jar for sale at $15 which seemed more reasonable should the I have any problems with the product. Especially as I have very sensitive, dry skin and am allergic to many cosmetics, skin care products and foods.
The product has a very distinct aroma to it, almost clinical but it is not unpleasant. The moisturiser has a texture almost like whipped cream, it feels very soft. When you apply the cream to the skin it is very light and is absorbed very quickly. I find that some moisturisers can be very heavy leaving the skin feeling clogged, however when I apply this cream this doesn't happen.
It leaves my skin feeling very soft and refreshed. It has assisted with my patches of dry skin.
The product lasts along time, as I find I only need to use a small amount due to its unique texture.
I will definitely purchase this product again.
Summary: Good product, which has helped with my dry skin.
