Advantages: Nice scent, keeps the spots away

Disadvantages: Bit pricey

I'm a fan of this stuff, let's get that out of the way first!

Purity Made Simple is a facewash style cleanser - you apply to damp skin, massage, and then rinse. That appealed to me right off, because i just can't get on with cleansing and toning - if a rinse with water isn't involved, i don't feel clean. I'd describe the texture as light cream/gel, with a slight "spa" type scent from the essential oils in it; it doesn't really lather as such. The product includes a number of therapeutic essential oils such as Rosewood, Geranium, Sandalwood, Rosa Damascena and Sage.

I'd describe my skin as combination - nose and chin area can be oily, but some areas such as around my eyes can be quite dry and sensitive. My main concern is not having an outbreak of spots, and i really struggled to find a cleanser which was thorough enough to keep the oil down, but not so gentle that it left my skin greasy. I've been using Purity Made Simple for about two years now, and before that i used the Garnier Vitamin C range facewash (not sure if they even still make that) or the Garnier Pure Deep Scrub gel, which kept the spots away but was a bit drying.

I find that Purity Made Simple leaves my skin clean, doesn't over dry it, seems to mostly keep the spots away, and is pleasant to use - it smells nice, like an upmarket spa product. I do tend to use an eye makeup remover prior to this, especially if i have waterproof mascara on, even though the bottle says the cleanser can do it all - i'm not so sure about that!

Value wise, it's expensive at retail but i usually manage to find some on ebay for about £6 for the small size. You really don't need very much to cleanse your face, and i find one 100ml bottle lasts me about 6-8 months.

In summary, this is the best cleanser i've found for combination skin and i wouldn't use anything else now.

Summary: I've been using it for years and wouldn't swap.
