... when you open it up there is a glass jar with a white lid. It looks fairly old fashioned but is not ugly. The cream is a glossy white colour, the fragrance is hard to place, it smells very comforting with a slight floral hint. I started by dabbing small dots of cream over my dry face before rubbing it in with my finger tips, the cream feels quite oily and heavy, this was disconcerting as with my oily skin I normally use oil free everything! I spent a few minutes massaging the cream in to get the full effect, it i...more

Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser: I love this cleanser (184 words)

I love it! So inexpensive but is by far the best cleanser that I have tried, and I have tried a few! I guess it would be fair to say I have combination skin, can get oily and prone to spots (especially around my chin) but I also get extremely dry irritated skin on my cheeks and forhead (mild eczema I have had since childhood). This seems to be the only cleanser that can cope with both, and makes my skin feel really soft. Every now and again I go off and try other cleansers, but within weeks (sometimes even days) my skin is irritaded, dry and looks not very nice. As soon as I start using the cold cream cleanser again I see an immediate improvement. The smell is a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cut the grease and the blackheads. (684 words)

I have had problems with my skin for a long time. I have a very greasy T zone and dry cheeks, I suffered with acne in my teens and while my skin improved in my twenties I still have a lot of blackheads and get regular spots on my chin and forehead. I also have very large pores on my cheeks. When I was a teenager everyone always said that I would have lovely skin when I was older and I would get less wrinkles, well guess what, they lied. I have tried more cleansers than I can remember, and my skin stayed the same, I was really starting to get down about it. I decided to give Ponds Cold Cream a go as I wondered if I was being too harsh on ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser: This retro beauty product will make you and your Nana smile (313 words)

I have a friend with lovely skin. Her mum is 58 and looks about 40 - no word of a lie. What is their secret? Not the Clinique 3-step routine or the latest home dermobrasion kit but a flannel and cold cream cleanser. The final straw for me was watching the latest James Bond offering (bear with me here...), Quantum of Solace. What was M taking her make-up off with? Cold cream. I had to have some. I am an unashamed geek - if M uses it then so do I. The cream comes in a glass pot and is reasonably priced (about £3.00), I assume because it is a favourite of Nanas around the globe who don't part with their pension easily. This means, ladies, that it's ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Declare an ever lasting peace with your skin (and not break ... (565 words)

Are you at war with your skin? Well, be prepared to declare a ceasefire (and not the usual type found in world politics these days) because Ponds Cold Cream is like the United Nations of skin cleansers. It lollops into your skin and says ‘You spent how much on that last face wash?’ and does its thing leaving you with skin as soft as a baby’s butt. Really, I take this sort of thing seriously I would never lie about something that actually did what it says on the tin. Now, you may actually have seen Cold Cream before, usually in old films where actresses ran around with great globs of it on to take off their makeup. It does do a brilliant job of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser: Ponds cold cream cleanser (256 words)

I somehow have a penchant for picking up and trying different kinds of facial cleansers. I know it's generally said that you should stick with one kind and one brand to see if it suits your skin and eventually it is good for the skin as well. But I am never satisfied with one type. Recently when Ponds introduced their cleanser in the same packaging as their famous creams (that they have been selling since ages), I was tempted to buy the green white jar. Ponds was known to me as a trademark for thick facial and cold creams. They later also came up with the cleansing products like cloths and pore cleansers. This magnificent cream cleanser ...  Read the complete review
