Advantages: easily removes makeup, smells nice, cheap

Disadvantages: no longer available!

There are tons of makeup removers around but the best is still Pond's cold cream.
Ahhhh Pond's cold cream, old fashioned but been around for so long for good reason. Pond's cold cream has actually been around since 1910 I have used Pond's cold cream since I started wearing makeup, longer than I'd care to admit, not since 1910 though!

This cream is actually a type of cleanser for your face rather than a moisturizer. Basically you just scoop a dollop out of the little plastic pot and gently massage it onto your face, let it sit just for a minute and then wipe off. I myself use a tissue to wipe off the cream but you can use a cotton pad or even a damp face cloth. It removes makeup quickly and easily with the first application. It penetrates even waterproof mascara and allows you to remove all of your eye make-up quickly and gently, without the slightest irritation. There is a slight oily residue left on the skin, but I always wash my face with cleanser afterwards.

The cream is quite thick if you are used to other makeup removers. It has a lovely rich creamy texture but won't clog your pores. I have found that some other eye makeup removers are thin enough that they can easily seep into your eyes and sting! I have never had this problem with Pond's, even when I have gotten a bit into my eye, it doesn't sting.
I have very sensitive skin and Pond's has never caused me a problem, It leaves my skin clear, clean and soft feeling. I also don't care for cosmetics that are strongly purfumed and Pond's has a clean, very slightly floral scent. It comes in a couple of sizes, the most widely available being 3.5 ounces.

Pond's isn't trendy and doesn't come in fancy glass pots and you don't have to remortgage to buy it. It sells for about £3.00 and is just good stuff.
r>Sadly, when I went to purchase a new pot at my local Boots, I found out that it is no longer available here in the UK. I have tried several shops and it is no where to be found. Next trip to the US, I am stocking up!

They have started to sell it again in Boots, because they had so many requests.

Oh no! I'm traumatised by this opinion!!! I didn't know they'd stopped selling it - I'm still using my last pot...

I had no idea they had stopped selling this over here. I'm sure I have some in the house somewhere....Mandxx
