Advantages: easy to use & immediate good results
Disadvantages: none for me
If you've been kind enough to have read any of my reviews then you'll know I am trying to blast out a few deeply embedded blackheads betwwen my eyes. The b*****s won't shift despite my cleansing religiously every morning & evening.
So far I've tried many lotions & portions including those that specifically target blackheads but with little real success.
I've used pore strips before & they've been the best way of tackling them but this afternoon my daughter bought these Purederm ones which I'm trying right now as I write this review. Good job you can't all see me!
Although this pack is 'Deep Cleaning Nose Strips' I've cut them down so I have 1 on my nose, a small one between my eyes & one of my chin - I hope we don't have unexpected visitors as they have to stay on for 5 - 10 minutes.
The directions are easy enough to follow - just wash face thoroughly removing any make-up, moisturiser etc (ie get rid of any oil on the face). Damp the face with water, dry hands thoroughly then place the strips with the shiny side towards the skin. Having followed these I'm just waiting for the 15 minutes to be up.
It says that the strips start to go hard the longer they are on & they have indeed but there's no discomfort whatsoever.
There are 6 strips in this pack which cost £1.49 from Qualitysave - good value as they retail at around £2.49 in some shops. It says on the pack that these strips should only be used on the nose but I like to make things go that bit further & they're too big for my nose anyway.
On the front of the box it tells me the following -
- instantly cleans clogged pores
- removes blackheads
- larger size for better fit
On the reverse it tells me the ingredients - gobblegook to me - but it does contain alcohol. It also claims that the product is 'specifically designed to unclog pores & lift away unwanted blackheads.' 'You'll feel a dramatic difference after just 1 use & continued use works to tighten pores..'
OK my time's up now so I'll just put the light on, get my specs & magnifying glass & let you know....

having followed the instructions carefully & removed from edged towards the centre I can honestly say they work! The proof is on the used strips - hurray!
All I need to do now is work on my wrinkles....
summary
~
- great buy as these strips worked for me.
- easy & relatively quick to use.
- I did get immediate results & actually saw the evidence on the used strips.
- would recommend trying these if blackheads & clogged pores drive you crazy.
~
Summary: well worth a try if you have clogged pores or blackheads

- 17/05/09 I find the strips too big too, but I guess they have to cater for all noses! |

- 10/05/09 I'm cheap - last time I just used normal selotape to clear my skin - results were good with this too ;-D Great review - perhaps I SHOULD use something better designed for the job but I won't pay £2.49 for it...(I don't think we have Qualitysave near us but maybe I can find someone else who stocks the stuff). |
