Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Everything, they are rubbish!
Make up removal is incredibly important to me. As a make up wearer I know the importance of a decent make up removal routine so I don't clog up my skin with filth and grime. I have skin that is temperamental and if I don't say remove my eye make up properly I do get eye infections and lets not talk about not removing foundation properly and getting spots and generally congested skin!
Because when I do wear make up it tends to be dark, heavy glitter based products and I never skimp on a foundation base, lashings of pitch black mascara and Max Factor Lipfinity these really appealed to me. Small oil infused pads that could rip my make up off gently? Yes I'm interested and so I bought a couple of pots on a whim. Now I got mine in Poundland (oddly enough priced at a pound a tub lol) but I have seen them in lots of independent chemists and in T.J.Hughes but if you really want to purchase these specifically you'd be best to look in online shops and they are around the £2.45 a pot mark.
The packaging....
Black shiny plastic tub with a screw on/off lid at the top. I'm not told if it's recyclable or not but I assume it is and no weight is stated. On the front in metallic gold and white writing I'm told that they are Colorstay Makeup Remover Pads For Eyes And Lips and then some stuff in foreign languages that I don't understand. Then around the middle I'm once again told they are Colorstay, Revlon, 80 oil-based pads (and once again some stuff is in a foreign language. On the back of the tub I'm told about the product, how to use them (yet more stuff in a foreign language), ingredients are listed as are contact details for Revlon. The packaging is functional and very informative.

My Experience...
Reading all that is said about this product was very promising to me. I wear as I have already explained alot of make up (particularly in the evenings) and I do like to use a product (when I have the time) specifically to remove eye make up and usually opt for a liquid in a bottle. I don't always do this but feel that I should do it more often because I do find I have to scrub myself raw and pull my skin about just using a cleanser and toner or a make up removing wipe. Is is far easier to use a product to remove something in-particular I think! You wouldn't call a plumber to come fit an cooker after-all lol
The pads themselves are thin, white, made of a material, don't smell and if you push your finger into the stack of pads not only can you feel the oily liquid on your fingers you can see it. They are soaked through (but don't drip). The round pad (that incidentally could fit in the palm of your hand) has a slight texture to it and although appears fragile cos of it's thinness it really isn't and doesn't rip or tear.
However using them is very tricky I think. The are flimsy so you have to kind of scrunch it at the corner to get some grip and use it. Also although it appears smooth when you start rubbing skin it grates a bit and closer inspection of the pad show fibres and a gentle pattern on it and as you transfer the oily liquid onto the face the pad gets drier and it irritates me more and feels uncomfortable and a gentle wipe with these is hard to achieve on my face and my eyes hurt me after using these and feel rather sore.
As I said the liquid comes off the pad. The liquid is like baby oil and as you rub some of the make up is removed along with the pad. However you get a mixing effect with oil and make up and you end up smearing make up all over your face. Face gets dirtier, you get through loads of pads and fingers and face are covered in oil believe me. I hate the slimy thick greasy feeling I have and you really do need to wash this product off.
In Conclusion....
Yes they work quite well to be fair even though it takes me about 10 pads to remove eye make up and a couple to remove my lip stain (Max Factor Lipfinity, that's why lol). The oil doesn't hurt my over sensitive eyes but the cloth is cheap and nasty and I hate, hate, hate this horrible thick, gunky oil that smears everything around my face and for me I don't think these are worth the effort at all. After using these I have to wash my face and then cleanse and tone and when I use my usual cleanser I end up removing mascara and eyeliner colour from other parts of my face I never applied it to in the first place!
Eyes are left no softer once you've washed this off and used other beauty products to clean skin etc and I certainly wouldn't say that these are easy and simple to use! Not keen. and certainly not recommended from me!
Summary: Don't bother!
