Advantages: Staggeringly low price for a top quality product (Typical for Aldi!)

Disadvantages: No SPF

Usually I'm a fan of Simple brand products, however I decided to give this a try after all the publicity last year (or was it the year before? anyway...)

This cream was featured in the media as it was trialled alongside a few other, much more expensive brands, and found to the the best by the testers who tried it. Also, the mighty Gok Wan tested - and loved - the matching night cream, so I was expecting good things

It cost me a staggeringly low £1.89 when I bought it from my local Aldi, and the first thing I noticed was the packaging: Usually, when you buy a cheap product, the packaging reflects this, but this cream comes to you in a nice smart pale blue box, which in turn contains the product in a glass jar with blue screw-top lid.

Okay, so that shouldn't matter, but it does give you a nice first impression, and it feels a little bit more glamorous in a glass jar, rather than just plastic. Well, it does to me anyway! I'm assuming this also means that the glass jar is recyclable, so top marks to Aldi there too.

I am a bit of a sensitive soul in the skin department, so when I get a new product, I always put it on the inside of my wrist first, in case of a bad reaction. I'm pleased to report that the Aldi Siana Q-10 Cream didn't cause me any problems like this, in fact when I used it on my face, it actually glided on lovely and smooth, and sank in when patted with my fingertips.

I mostly use it around my eyes, nose-to-lip lines and the vertical frown line between my eyes.

I do believe I can see a difference when I have used it: Of course, no moisturiser can reverse ageing or anything like that, but after it's on, everything seems a little bit softer, smoother, and the lines a little less deep.

This is just a temporary effect of course, and only lasts until the cream is washed off, but still, it's a nice pick-me-up in the morning. As well as the bathroom cabinet, I also keep a jar in the fridge and apply it first thing: Very cooling and de-puffing , as well as moisturising.

A very good friend of mine has always used the Nivea Q10 cream, but has switched to this after testing mine, to save money, as she rates this equally highly.

I can only think of a single disadvantage, and that is that there is no sunscreen included in the formulation.

Verdict: Give it a try.

Summary: Can't go wrong at this price. Top quality budget product.
