Advantages: Lovely sized clothes and don't irritate eyes.
Disadvantages: Takes to many clothes to get rid of all eye make up and takes a lot of 'scrubbing'.
Since I've got older long gone are the days of sleeping in my make up! Yes been there done that but these days since I hit my 30's I have a religious night time beauty regime and not only do I make sure I never sleep in my slap (no matter how drunk and tired I am) I also make sure that every night I take of all traces of my make up and I find myself with lots of products for separate things! I do own a few eye make up removers but I saw these ones advertised in a magazine I read with the heading of top ten beauty buys and this rated third as a must have so me being me off I went in search of them and I found them for 99p on offer. Again I ruined my good buy if they were rubbish cos I bought 5 packs in case they were good and when I returned there were none left!
Packaging....
White recyclable plastic small packet containing 30 wipes. Clearly tells me on the front that they are indeed by Simple and tells me they are cleansing Eye Make-Up Remover Pads.
On the back tells me the ingredients and what they are for. Simple packaging, pardon the pun lol. It has a piece of plastic you lift up and take the pads from and it reseals.
To Use....
Gently wipe pad over the eyelids and around the eyes to remove make up.
Top Tip.... Put two pads in the fridge and place over the eyes to help soothe and reduce puffiness.
Promises to remove waterproof mascara.
100% fragrance free.
Colour free.
Ophalmologically tested.
Dermatologicaaly approved.
Verdict...
Well firstly I must say the pad itself is great. It's quite large and is quite thick and textured and fairly damp though not wet. It doesn't rip with rubbing. I thought on size maybe I would need one wipe for both eyes but I was wrong as I do use a lot of eye make up!
Now these are great for taking off day time make up. By that I mean fairly light run of the mill. It does however struggle with heavy make up and alot of mascara.
Personally I use loads of eye make up lol. I Use a base, an eyeliner with liquid glitter eyeliner over the top and then I use glittery eye shadows and lashings of mascara! These pads on all that little lot struggled big time. I had to rub and rub and the glitter particles I was removing really scraped my eyes instead of my conventional cotton wool balls and liquid eye make up remover of which you just keep using a new cotton wool ball and bin till clean! I also found that one pad per eye would not be enough if that's all I wanted to use IE not using cleanser and toner. Personally I use these and then cleanse and tone of which get rid of the last remnants of my eye make up.
Overall....
Well any good I do get by using this on my eyes is destroyed with having to use cleanser and toner as well. So yes they are mild and gentle and to be fair they don't make my eyes water though with all the scrubbing I had to do my eye area was rather pink looking though the bits that do clean do look refreshed and smooth. However the pads on their own, for me are not enough so I have to question whether at full price I would bother and the answer to that is no.
In the magazine I read it told me they are great for women on the go to keep in their handbags. Well I don't know anyone that would just carry these about cos if your wearing eye make up you'd most likely have a whole face make up to remove too lol
Where these are great is the suggestion to put two in the fridge to reduce puffiness. I do get light bags under my eyes and sometimes cos I'm on the Pc and I also read alot I do get eyes which can feel a bit gritty time to time. I put 2 in the fridge on a tea plate for half an hour, they don't dry out and I lie back and stick them on my eyes for a couple of minutes. This really does work and you can feel your eyes cooling and the pads getting the heat from your eyes. Eyes do feel refreshed and look brighter and they're a nice little treat.
I loved the idea of a two in one product but as I said for me not brilliant and I won't be changing from my usual eye make up remover as its easier for me but in conclusion if you wear light make up, brilliant for you! lol
I bought mine in a local chemist on sale for 99p but I've seen them in Boots today priced £3.99 Per Pack for 30.
Summary: Ok for light day time make up, not sure it can remove waterproof mascara!
