Advantages: 100% soap and fragrance free

Disadvantages: None

Having unpredictable and sensitive skin, I find that most cleansers and face washes bring my face up in horrible itchy rashes, but Simple Foaming Facial Wash has, so far, not affected my skin in any way other than to gently clean and moisturise.

Simple products are 100% perfume and colour free, so they're suitable for most people, even those with sensitive skins like me. (Everyone is different, though, so I'd test any product before you start smearing it all over your face...I once ill-advisedly applied a face mask which made my skin burn and itch for about 5 hours afterwards - not a great experience, that!)

Moisturising Foaming Facial Wash is billed as being "100% perfume and colour free, with no unnecessary additives...soap free and pH balanced...with vitamin E and Pro Vitamin B5". Being soap free means the product is much less drying than one containing soap, and so will benefit those with dryer skin. Pro Vitamin B5 helps to moisturise the skin and is also an anti-inflammatory agent. Vitamin E helps protect and condition the skin.

THE BASICS

==Appearance and packaging==
The stuff is pearly white and comes in a chunky white tube with a green lid. The packaging is designed to reflect the products; very simple and basic, with just a small green design and the explanatory writing on the front.

==Smell and texture==
As it's perfume free, it doesn't really smell of anything. Texture-wise, it's very thick and sticky.

==How to use==
There's nothing much to it, to be honest - this isn't some highly technical system or anything like that. There are directions on the back of the tube, but basically you just wash and rinse as you would with any product. I find that a little goes a long way; a blob about the size of a 5p piece produces a generous lather.

==Performance==
Excellent. I found that a small amount did effectively remove all traces of the day's grime and makeup. Afterwards, my skin felt soft and moisturised, instead of tight and dry.

==Price==
£3.95 for 150ml

==Manufacturer and further info==
Simple is a trademark of Accantia Health & Beauty Limited.
Visit the Simple website on www.keep-life-simple.com for more information about the products and ingredients.

==Where to buy==
You can find Simple products pretty much everywhere - most supermarkets and chemists sell it. Boots often run offers on skincare, so try there.

I wouldn't say that Foaming Facial Wash is an expensive or luxurious item, but for your basic, everyday product, it's hard to beat...and people with sensitive skin don't have to worry about colours, fragrances or soap.

Summary: A good, basic product, free from nasties and great for sensitive skin.
