Advantages: Kind to skin, good value for money

Disadvantages: Can not see how much lotion is left

I have always had sensitive skin and when I was younger, I suffered quite badly with eczema. I now always try and opt to use products that are fragrance free as they are more gentle to my sensitive skin. I always used Oil of Olay Cleansing lotion but having run out, I popped to my local Tescos to buy some more, only to find that they had run out. I then decided to have a look through the products to see if anything else would suit my needs. This is when I came across Simple Cleansing Lotion.

About Simple
In 1960, Simple brought out their soup which is claimed to be the first fragrance and colour free soap. In 1978, they expanded their range to include a cleanser, toner and moisturiser. Nowadays, Simple products include many different items such as a range for men and babies and sun cream products to name just a couple.
All Simple products are 100% perfume and colour free and contain no unnecessary addictives which makes them perfect for using on sensitive skin such as mine. Another thing I love about Simple products is that they are not tested on animals.

Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion
This product is meant to be used in the three part facial care system: cleanse, tone and moisturise. The Simple Cleansing Lotion is used to remove impurities on the skin, such as grease, make-up and dirt. Because this product is so pure, it is fine to be used around the delicate eye area which I think is a bonus.

Packaging
This cleansing lotion comes in a plastic bottle with an easy to remove screw top lid. My only grumble with this product is that to dispense it, there is only a small hole so you need to turn the bottle upside down and squeeze it, although this has to be done quite gently otherwise you end up with too much of the lotion coming out.

Product
The lotion is white and has a fairly thick consistency which is useful as I don't like cleansers that are too runny. As this product is perfume and colour free, it doesn't really have a smell to it although if I had to say it smelt of anything, it would be 'slightly milky'.

Cost
As previously mentioned, I bought this product from Tesco's where a 200ml bottle costs £2.92. This is a little more expensive than some other brands but I still think it offers good value for money as it lasts a long time and is perfect for my sensitive skin. Just to give you an idea, I have had my 200ml bottle around 2 months and still have what feels like quarter of a bottle left.

To Use
The directions for use for this product state "squeeze onto cotton wool and cleanse in upward movements over the skin morning and night". I cleanse just at night time and find that this is the best method to use for doing so. Squeezing the product onto a cotton wool pad enables me to use most of the product in my skin. I think that if you were to try and use this product with tissue, it would just soak into the tissue and not be much use to your skin.

Conclusion
In conclusion, I would certainly recommend this product. It has proved to be kind to my skin as promised and after using, my skin always feels clean and soft. I have found that some cleaners leave my skin feeling tight and dry but this product doesn't. When I cleanse, I rub the cotton wool all over my face, even over my closed eyes and this product is so gentle that I can easily do this without having to worry about my eyes stinging.
As I mentioned earlier, my only grumble is that as you get towards the end of the bottle, you do have to squeeze quite hard to get the lotion out of the bottle and sometimes this can lead to you dispensing too much lotion. My only other grumble (which is only small) is that the bottle is white plastic which means you are unable to tell exactly how much is left, although to be honest, you can get a rough idea by picking up the bottle and judging by weight.
Overall, a fantastic product that gives me the desired effect.

Summary: A product I would recommend.

I use this. It's effective, but the list of chemical ingredients doesn't seem to be in keeping with it's pure image!

I like the 'Simple' range. Inexpensive and as you say, kind to skin.
