Refreshing wash ideal for sensitive skin (Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel)

I got this last week after trying a Simple moisturiser and really liking it. At night I use Clinique Comforting Cleanser but wanted a lighter face wash to refresh me in the morning and thought this looked pretty good. I got it from Boots and it was only £2.99 for the 150ml bottle which I thought was really cheap!

It claims that it will revive tired skin and get rid of make-up, dirt and pollution. It contains Vitamin B5 and is 100% soap free which means it shouldn't dry the skin out.

***Packaging...

I'm not keen on the general Simple packaging which is the white bottles with green lids, but this one is a lot different. It is in a clear bottle with an apple green tint with green and white lettering on the front. The bottle is upside down style which makes it easy to get the gel out and it has a click shut lid. It looks fresh which suits the product inside it and it is eye catching and doesn't look cheap at all. It actually looks very similar to a L'Oreal face wash bottle.

***The Face Wash...

When the gel comes out it is clear and is reasonably runny which means it can come out quite fast. It doesn't really have any smell which supports Simple's claims that their products don't contain any fragrance. When the gel comes in contact with the skin it is instantly refreshing and has a lovely cooling effect on the skin.

When you start to rub it in it doesn't foam, which I kind of expected it to and found a bit disappointing. I find when face washes don't foam they feel less like they are cleaning your face and its harder to cover all the skin and know where you have cleansed. Instead the gel just stays like gel and you just have to massage it in. In hindsight I've realised this will be to do with the fact that it doesn't contain soap therefore is unlikely to foam up. Because it doesn't foam up I've felt the need to massage it in for quite a while just to be sure my skin is totally clean.

It is fairly easy to wash off but you have to be really careful making sure you wash it all off as you can't actually see it and if some of the gel gathers on one part of your face it can be difficult to remove. The first time I used it when I was drying my face afterwards I noticed the gel was still on my skin in some places, so really make sure it all washes off. I've found the gel reacts better with warm water rather than cold (which I sometimes prefer).

After washing it off my skin feels really good, it really does refresh your skin and makes it feel really bright. Also I did notice that my skin felt less tight than when I normally use a face wash. I still felt the need to use moisturiser after which I always would do anyway but I didn't feel as much need to do this straight away.

My skin can be quite sensitive and prone to break-outs of spots but this doesn't have any negative reaction with my skin. Therefore I would advise it to anyone with quite sensitive skin.

I've been using this for about a week and have already noticed positive effects. My skin feels fresher for the day than when I used creamy face washes in the morning and also I have noticed my skin produces less excess oil throughout the day because this really does thoroughly clean your skin. I wouldn't generally use it at night before bed as I do prefer my creamy cleansers for nighttimes use but I would recommend it for use in the morning.

***Overall Opinion...

I think this is a brilliant product that it excellent value. It is refreshing and does everything it says it will do. It is ideal for sensitive skin and great for freshening up in the morning. Despite it not foaming up which I wasn't keen on, it does still make the skin feel really clean.
