Advantages: Good all-round product

Disadvantages: Bad effect on my skin

Another Christmas stocking filler for me, unfortunately this Simple moisturiser didn't live up to my expectations. Despite being a thoughtful present from lovely Santa, the product itself just wasn't good for me.

The moisturiser is packaged in a white plastic bottle with a green lid, the writing on the front clearly stating that it's the Simple brand and a moisturiser (genius!!). The lid unscrews and you can tip the bottle upside down and squeeze to get the moisturiser out.

In terms of smell, it's not overpowering and more a gentle, cleansing kind of smell. Quite nondescript, which is good if you're intending to wear scented/flavoured makeup or perfume, because you can rest assured that the smells don't clash.

It's about average thickness for moisturiser, and a standard white colour. It's quite creamy nad rubs in well. To be honest I didn't really notice any difference to more expensive moisturisers.

So what's wrong with it? Basically, although I don't have sensitive skin as a rule, for some reason a lot of moisturisers tend to bring me out in spots. I have absolutely no idea why, since I have no reactions to any other kinds of bath, beauty and makeup products. For this reason I tend to stick to Garnier as I know it won't make my skin flare up.

I tried using this a few times over the space of a couple of weeks for a more fair test and it just happened every time - my skin would break out. So I unfortunately had to stop using it, although as a moisturiser in itself I have no faults or problems with it at all - my skin just seems to have taken its own inexplicable hatred to it.

Because of that, I appreciate that whilst this moisturiser doesn't work for me, it may well do for you so I still recommend it.

Summary: Try it?
