Advantages: Moisturises well, smells nice, leaves skin feeling nice

Disadvantages: On the expensive side, not sure if it prevents wrinkles

When my last moisturiser started to run out, I began looking online for an alternative. I knew Soap and Glory now have a range of skincare products as well as the bath and body products they are well known for, so looked to see if they had a moisturiser. Catch a wrinkle in time appealed to me, as although I'm only 24 my skin seems to be ageing horrifically, and I am getting fine lines around my eyes, and one ridiculous little line on my forehead, which is going to need botox if it gets any worse! This moisturiser is called 'age-avoiding' moisturiser, and I thought it would be a good idea to prevent any more lines or wrinkles forming!

The product comes packaged in a white and pink box, featuring a picture of two hands holding a clock. Inside the box is a tube, which is predominantly white with a few hints of pink on both the logo and the product name. It's a pretty basic looking tube, considering the price, but inoffensive looking and functional, which I suppose is the main thing.

The packaging informs me that this moisturiser has sun filters, 'high performance hydrators', collagen stimulating tri-peptides and light reflectors. This all sounds very good, but I suppose the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as they say - although, trust me, no matter how yummy this smells, I have no intentions of eating it!

The moisturiser is white in colour, and to me smells like Terry's chocolate orange. Having asked the opinion of other people, it seems I am alone in this thinking, but I've just put a dab on the back of my hand, and on sniffing it, I can't come to any other conclusion. It's a very sweet, creamy orange/cocoa type scent, but is also fairly subtle, and not noticeable once on the skin.

The cream is quite thick, but only a small amount is needed to cover a large area of skin, which is fairly good considering this comes in a small sized 50ml tube. The box states that you should wait a few seconds before applying your make-up and I do find that a few seconds is all that is needed for this cream to sink into the skin.

After application, the cream feels surprisingly light on the skin considering how thick it is on application. You really can't feel that you are wearing it, and to the touch, it makes the skin feel smooth and silky.

Appearance wise, I have found that this gives my skin a slightly dewy finish, yet doesn't make my skin look greasy. I think that it's possibly due to these 'light-reflectors' that the product contains, that it gives my skin that slightly radiant look, but it's not over-the top or too obvious I have the product on my skin.

In general my skin is very dry, so I do need a fairly intensive moisturiser, and I find that this does the job well. It hydrates my skin, and keeps it feeling supple, and I have never needed to re-apply it throughout the day just yet.

As for preventing wrinkles, that is very difficult to say. I have been using the product for around a month, and I can't say I have noticed any new lines or wrinkles appearing, but the ones I do have don't seem to have worsened any!

A 50ml tube of this product costs £9.78 and can be purchased from Boots. As I said, the tube is quite small, but I've been using this on a daily basis for one month and I think (although it's hard to tell because I can't see through the tube) that I have about half left.

Overall, I am quite pleased with this moisturiser. It smells beautiful, it moisturises well and leaves my skin looking and feeling nice. As mentioned, it is hard to say if it is preventing wrinkles, I think I would have to use it over a much longer period of time to judge that, but at least it makes me feel like I'm doing something to help! I do think it's quite pricey given the size of the tube it comes in, but I would be more than happy to use it again.

Summary: A great moisturiser

I've been wondering what the Soap & Glory moisturisers were like - I like the sounds of this!
