Advantages: Very grainy and you only need a tiny amount each application!
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, but you're getting a good quality product.
Recently there was a 3 for 2 offer in Boots on the Soap & Glory products. This is the 3rd product I bought in this offer, so no more Soap & Glory reviews from me (for now anyway!)
I have quite big pores on my nose and cheeks and so I am always on the look out for good face washes. I don't have sensitive skin so I'm always on the look out for a good scrub, I prefer the grainier types of scrubs. I've tried a few, and many 'scrubs' on the market today are just smooth creamy washes with a few beads in which apparently open up your pores but in my experience these ones are useless. So when I saw the Soap & Glory 'Scrub Your Nose In It' I was quite hopeful and decided to give it a go.
One thing that attracted me to this scrub is in bold letters on the front of the packaging it states 'helps refine large pores and prevent blemishes.' This is exactly my kind of product! The rest of the packaging is a girly pink colour with fancy fonts and lots of quirkyness to it. It certainly stands out on the shelf so the packaging designers have done an excellent job there!
The instructions on using this product are to apply a pea-sized dollop the scrub to a damp t-zone. Then you should massage gently in circular motions, then extend out to the less clogged places on your face. Rinse well and follow with moisturiser.
When I tried this scrub I followed the instructions, I usually get carried away with scrubs and apply quite alot of it and rub it all over my face, but this time I only squeezed out a small pea size amount. The scrub itself is a lovely minty green colour, and minty green is certainly the best way to describe it as it's got a lovely peppermint scent! I have been extremely impressed with the scents of products from the Soap & Glory range and this one certainly doesn't disappoint. If you're using this scrub on a morning then I'm sure this lovely fresh peppermint smell will help you wake up.
I then applied this product to my nose and cheeks, followed by my forehead and chin, there was plenty go around because the product is so grainy it stretches far. If you have sensitive skin then this one isn't for you, as it does have a wonderfully grainy texture to it, the type I love. I rubbed it into my face and it felt slightly scratchy, really working into my pores. It spread out well across my face and it certainly feels like it's doing a great job. I rinsed the scrub off with ease and I my face felt clean and glowing. My skin was lovely and smooth, it didn't look red raw and it didn't feel dried out. I followed with moisturiser as per the instructions.
A good face scrub is an important part of good facial skin care to help clean out your pores, you shouldn't use it everyday though, 3-4 types a week does the trick. This scrub does the job wonderfully and if like me, you do have large pores then this scrub is excellent.
It currently retails at £6.85, which admittely is quite expensive but you are getting a good quality facial scrub for that price. I bought it as part of a 3 for 2 offer so keep an eye out for any special offers, and for you Advantage Card holders check the machine, not so long ago I had a voucher to get extra points when buying a Soap & Glory product.
I would say that because of the minty scent to this product, rather than a girly flowery scent, that you men could always pinch some of this one! ;)
Summary: Cleans out those pores wonderfully. Highly recommend!
