St Ives Apricot Scrub

After so long of feeling like a beached whaled and deciding I needed to take some action and make myself feel and look a bit presentable, ready for the birth of this child, when ever that may be!

This product is certainly one that will make you look and feel a hundred times better than when you first stepped into that shower!! St Ives Apricot scrub is basically a product containing exfoliater and you can apply to the whole of your body including your face and gently rub away any dead skin clinging to your flesh and make you feel like the new you has just escaped!

I have been using this product for a number of years on and off. I tend not to over do using it as I did hear that too much exfoliation is a bad thing and your skin does need time to release all the oils and such that you are in fact rubbing off with this product. I think perhaps once a week if not once every other week is enough to make you feel smooth and new skinned for a good while.

You can pretty much get this St Ives Apricot Scrub from most places such as Tesco’s, Boots Superdrug and the like. The price is pretty much the same wherever you go unless of course there is some sort of special offer on. I like to stock up when there is a buy one get one free offer as this really does make this product somewhat of a bargain. However you are averagely looking at paying around £3.99p for a large tube of this.

There are different strengths of the scrub available for different skin types such as sensitive, blemish control and so on. They are notably different in the type of tube they come in but this one is a darker shade of orange all over with a clear flip lid. In one tube you are looking at getting a good dozen full body scrub applications from it. But of course depending how big your body is that may change significantly. Being pregnant and having a considerable amount more skin to cover I found I used nearly twice the amount I would use in a single application before.

The best way to use this scrub is in the shower once you have given yourself a good wash with the soap and flannel. I find it best to wash off first get the skin lovely and wet so that it is easy to apply this product smoothly all over the body. I apply the scrub fairly thickly to every part of my body (well nearly ever part, not the private bits!) and concentrate on areas such as the thigh, bum and knees. These areas are prone more to dry skin and areas that get cellulite. This product will benefit the dry skin by getting rid of all the unwanted stuff and aid the cellulite in breaking down the fat particles if you keep using it regular. The regular motion of rubbing is said to in time eliminate cellulite.

It takes a while to give every inch of skin a good rubbing and making sure I get the most from the small beads of exfoliater that are held within this product. The smell coming off the scrub is definitely that of apricot but it is not at all overpowering and just gives a pleasant smell to what appears to be a horrid looking product. The beads that are held within the scrub give the look like something off a building yard. The product is grey in colour with the exfoliating beads very noticeable. It does look too great but the smell and the fact it works so well really does make up for it.

The next part of using this product after you are happy with the amount you have rubbed it in and the amount of skin that has been relinquished is to wash the entire product off. This is no mean feat as the little beads seem to get stuck everywhere but a good 15 minute rinse off should ensure its all been washed away. Stepping out of the shower making sure I have towel dried every inch and applying moisturiser is a must and to get the full effect of this product moisturiser must be applied so the skin does not come over dry and damaged looking.

After the moisturiser has all soaked in you are able to really notice the effects that the scrub has had on the skin. I always seem to both look and feel better. I can honestly say there is no better way to get your skin feeling as smooth, soft and so much like anew born (not that I would know yet!). The appearance of the skin looks brighter somewhat and you can really see a difference. The fact that there is no dry or hard skin anywhere such as the knees or thighs is really a great thing. The product works so well you just cant help but rubbing your skin al over….ummm.

There is nothing as good on the market as this particular product. St Ives Apricot scrub is one I will always come back to no matter how many other body exfoliaters I try this one is certainly the best. The price is reasonable, the product smells good and works brilliantly. There is a type for everyone so please, please try this product yourself you wont be disappointed. Oh and for all those men who think exfoliating is just for women the I will say that I made my boyfriend try it just so I could appreciate his soft skin for once and the difference was amazing. Seeing as his legs had never had anything like this before they looked and felt like a new pair! I couldn’t keep my hands off him! So blokes you too can enjoy this far from girly product!

Recommended to everyone!!

Summary: a great scrub for your tub
