ENORMOUS grains - scary to use on the face! Causes spots - buyer beware! (St. Ives Apricot Scrub)

Advantages: Smells quite nice!

Disadvantages: Everything - too harsh for the skin, causes oily skin and worse, spots!

I don't understand why this scrub gets so many great reviews because the grains in this scrub are far to big and harsh for the face.

Smell:
The scrub smells quite powerfully of apricots with a hint of menthol.

Texture:
Horrible! You can physically see the enormous size of these grains (walnut shells or something like that!) - scary to think that THAT is what will be exfoliant my face! The cream is velvety enough but the grains are far to big and far to harsh - it feels like the first layer of my skin is being scrapped off! Although, after using this, immediately my skin feels refreshed but I suspect that is the menthol working its magic rather than it actually making an immediate improvement on my skin.

However, horror of horrors, after a week of using this (the scrub actually says to use this daily for a week to see the difference) my skin just couldn't cope with the onslaught. I had spot after spot, appearing in different places on my face and it was only until my beautician had a look that I realised it was this scrub that was causing this. It also causes an outbreak of oily skin, blotting my entire face. It's not a pretty sight and there are far better exfoliants out on the market. Poor product!
