Advantages: Low price, makes skin soft and glowing

Clarins make a product called ‘Beauty flash balm’ which is a cream/balm that you apply to your skin and it supposedly gives your skin a lovely natural glow. I kept seeing it advertised in beauty magazines, and everyone seemed to be going on about how great it was, but unfortunately it was way, way out of my price range.

Browsing in Superdrug one Saturday afternoon, I spotted a tube of Superdrug Instant Radiance Balm. I tried some on the back of my hand (as we girls do!), and was instantly impressed. Straight away I could see that my skin looked a lot brighter on the hand to which I had applied the balm. I loved the smell as well – very subtle and delicate, I think it smells very luxurious.

It contains Orange, Wheatgerm oil, and olive.

Being only £2.99 for a 50ml tube, it was a bargain, and I couldn’t wait to get home to try it!

PACKAGING

It comes in a white squeezy tube with silver writing. There is a pink sticker with the products name, and a really cute picture of four leaves arranged in the shape of a butterfly. Although the tube is quite plain, it also looks fairly stylish.

USING IT

This product should be applied to your face and neck before applying make-up to give it a lovely glow. The first mistake I made with this product, was that I used far too much. A little goes a long way, remember this is a balm, not a lotion, therefore you only need a dab, otherwise you will find it hard to wipe off and you may end up looking overly shiny!
The tube also says that this can be used as a mask for a ‘special treat’. You just need to apply a thick layer to the face, leave 15 minutes and remove. I have not tried this myself, but next time the winter weather has got to my skin I might give it a go.

IS IT ANY GOOD?

Yes! When it’s on your skin it does make it look brighter and the first time I went to work with this on my face I actually had a few compliments! It does not irritate my skin or cause any redness either, which is good, as I have had that problem in the past.
Another thing I have noticed, which I wasn’t expecting, is that it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth.
I have been using it for quite a few months now, and although I don’t use it every day, I really love it and will definitely buy another tube when mine runs out!
