Advantages: It works

Disadvantages: Smells like oats, Looks like porridge

If you’re like me and have combination skin, although in the summer it tends to be more greasy, then you’ll like this product. I have irritating bits of my face which go unnecessarily dry and rough – chin, nose and forehead. I have tried all sorts of different facial scrubs which promise to leave your skin smooth and soft, but after 2-3 days it’s back with a vengeance. So I went on a hunt for something that would last for longer. I’m one of those women who like to look and feel good but without the effort, so I thought that finding this elusive product might take a while.

Just recently I have taken to buying bits and pieces from my local Superdrug (not my usual haunt for beauty products). So when I picked up their Vitamin E Gentle Facial Scrub I was unsure if it would be effective enough. Gentle usually means not enough ‘scrub’ for me, but for the sake of my skin I would try it; after all it said it would do rough and dry patches of skin.

It doesn’t look very attractive from the outside. You can see the creamy-brown colour, through the clear tube, with its ‘leetle scrubbers’. It has a distinctive oaty smell which reminded me of porridge. So far not very positive. Even the exfoliants were very soft, which made me think that it wasn’t going to work on my skin. Following the directions, I cleaned my face as normal leaving the skin wet and then massaged in a 50 pence sized amount (concentrating particularly on the problem areas), then rinsed thoroughly. The softness of the scrubbers means that it didn’t feel that it was having any effect, but it was gentle as per claim. Afterwards my skin did feel soft and smooth, even the rough bits. If you're like me and 'do a facial' once a week, the tube should last about two months - if that.

So the final analysis would come after the test. How would it feel? After seven days my skin still felt smooth and the roughness was only starting to come back. Success! Finally something that did it as it said it would.

Superdrug Vitamin E Facial Scrub currently retails for £1.99 for a 100ml tube.

Oh, I forgot - could you tell us how much is in the tube and how much you need to use of it each time, as well?

I'm wondering how much this costs and how long the tube lasts. That information would make this more useful to me. Thanks.
