Advantages: Easy to use, petite, in-expensive and it works

Disadvantages: None for me

Ever changing weather causes havoc to my skin but luckily I can always find a lotion or potion to reverse the damage that has been caused. When it comes to my lips however there isn't much of a market when it comes to products which exfoliate the dried skin which often appears. I the past I have used BeneFits lipscription and found it to work quite well, but because it is quite expensive it isn't a product I liked enough to keep paying for.

Then I came across Sweet Lips Sugar Scrub which is made by Lush or more importantly can be found within their B range. The Lush B range or "B never too be busy to be Beautiful" as the B stands for, can be found within many Lush stores, not all of them. It is also available online and within the range you can find a wide variety of what they call Vegan make-up. None of it is tested on animals and nor are any of the products derived from animals parts. You can find lip creams, hair mascaras, eye shadows and facial foundations to name but a few of their products and they are definitely worth looking into especially if like me you like something which is different and stands out.

Sweet Lips Sugar Scrub is designed to keep lips that are smooth, conditioned and dry skin free. Lips are one of the most if not the most important feature on a person face. Lips are used for communication, eating, talking, being expressive and kissing. In my job I spend a lot of time dealing with members of the public on a daily basis, the last thing I would want to do and see when I greet them are my dry, chapped lips with various bits of skin hanging off them. Having kissable lips which are soft and smooth is a definite must for me. For those ladies who insist on wearing lots of lipstick when they have chapped lips, it looks a mess so it is vitally important that they are kept smooth and supple and moisturised. So I needed to invest in something that was easy to carry around in my pocket or my handbag, was inexpensive but most importantly that it worked well.

Very rarely does Lush let me down and this time is no different. It was by chance that I spotted this product on the cashiers' desk when I had paid a visit to the store and when I enquired was it was after being taken in by the packaging it was explained to me. Sweet Lips Sugar Scrub comes in a small round glass tub which is no bigger or smaller than most lip balms which come in pots. The lid is totally black and screws on and off the pot in a very easy motion and the picture on the top of the lid which caught my eye is a pair of seductive looking lips and through the pot you can see something resembling marmalade, so with that I new it couldn't be lipstick because no one wants orange lips.

Weighing 15g and retailing for £4.50 Sweet Lips is a brilliant product, it does everything that I had anticipated it would do and more. Inside the tub the cream I described as marmalade is infact caster sugar which gives the rough texture and acts as an exfoliator to remove dead skins calls from your lips. Other ingredients include Jojoba Oil can be used on all skin types but is especially used as a moisturising ingredient for dry, flaky skin. Also within this product is chocolate extracts which is used to give the lip scrub some flavour and then finally Vanilla absolute which again is used for its fragrance which is quite sweet and is said to promote feelings of well-being and calmness. Unlike other Lush products this one doesn't come with a long list of other ingredients to look into.

When it comes to using this Lip Scrub the first thing you need to do is to remove all trace of any lip gloss, lip balm or lipstick which you might have applied to ensure your lips are as bare as they can possibly be. Then I always clean my lips using water and a relevant facial cloth before using Sweet Lips. This cream if you can call it a cream is quite thick in consistency and because it is your lips you don't actually need to be using too much at a time. Like with most lip balms you apply this to your lips but instead of running your finger along your lips to get that smooth look, you will need to rub your lips in small circles to remove the dead skin cells and any other impurities from your lips and once you have worked your way across your lips, using some slightly damp cotton wool gently remove the left over product from your lips and then using your finger check your lips to make sure you haven't missed anything, if you have simply copy the actions you have just done.

Once I had finished using this on my lips my first initial reaction was how smooth my lips felt as I ran my tongue along them. When my lips become dry it is always in the same place and that is right in the middle of my top and bottom lip and once I had used this product my lips felt soft and smooth all the way along. I have since continued to use this cream once a week during the dull months (by that I mean the first 5 months of the year) and then after that I use it as and when we need to, but because it is quite a petite little pot, I can carry it within my bag without really knowing a lot about it.

Overall I was very impressed with Sweet Lips as a lip scrub, it was easy to use, it smelled lovely, anything which smells slightly chocolaty will get my vote but this has a lovely smell and feel to it which is an added bonus and price wise I don't actually think it is expensive because it lasts a very long time, my pot is only a third used and I have had it now for almost 6 months and I do use it regularly. So for a cheap in-expensive product to keep your lips smooth, soft and kissable, I would recommend this one.

Summary: A lip scrub in a pot from Lush
