Advantages: Cheap, cooling on the skin

Disadvantages: Doesn't get rid of / prevent spots

Possibly the most misleadingly labelled product ever - the T-Zone "Spot Zapping Stick" is actually a rollerball applicator for a liquid, not a stick at all.

The liquid itself contains various essential oils - mainly Tea Tree, but also Chamomile, Bitter orange, lavender, Rosemary and Thyme, in a base of alcohol. It has the strong smell of Tea Tree oil, which personally i find a bit pungent, but i know many people like it. It's quite tricky to apply because you're putting liquid (no thicker than water) onto a vertical surface (your face) with the obvious result that you often get runs. Because of the alcohol, it does feel quite pleasant and cooling as you apply it.

The sorts of spots i get are either those big red lumps that come up way under the skin, hang around making me depressed for anything up to a fortnight, and then generally go away again, or the little white pustules on the skin surface which can easily be disposed of with a handy fingernail but do tend to come back if you do that (not that i would, of course :) ). I honestly haven't found this product to make much difference to either kind - either when applied just to individual spots, or applied regularly to my whole chin area which is where i usually get them.

On the plus side, it's not expensive and doesn't devastate your skin the way some of the stronger spot remedies (oxy 10 etc) can do, so i guess it's worth a try - especially as there seem to be some quite glowing reviews on here.

Summary: Probably worth trying.
