Advantages: Cheap, 100% cotton used. Absorbant

Disadvantages: None that I have found

It wasn't until recently that I realised how much I used my packet of cotton wool pads. I realised just how much I used them as I ran out and was lost without them! I went to use my regular clenser / toner and eyemake up remover which I always apply onto a pad of cotton wool and so ended up using my emergancy make up remover wipes (normally used for late nights!) I then noticed that my nails were in a disgusting state, all chipped and flaking but as I needed to apply my nail varnish remover onto a pad, I was left with the chipped nails!

I have tried a number of different varieties of cotton wool in the past, the pads, the pleats of cotton wool, the larger squares of cotton wool. I have also tried different brands varying from Boots own, Bodycares own and Superdrugs but seeing as I do a weekly shop in Tesco more than anything out of convenience I now buy my cotton wool pads from there.

Tesco charge the following for their cotton wool pads:

100 pads ~ £54p
200 pads ~ £1.06

I have brought both packs in the past but more than often go with the larger pack. Both packs come in a plastic bag, the larger is just 2 packs of the 100 pads encased in a larger plastic bag. To open you need to take a pair of scissors and cut across the top of the bag (you can clearly see a guideline) It is important to follow this line as once you have removed the pads that you need then the bags closes by a drawstring keeping the pads sealed and dry.

The pads themselves are approx 5cm wide and are fairly thick in width. They are very absorbant to whatever liquid you are using. My eye make up remover is quite runny but the pad copes well and absorbs the liquid so that when I apply to my eye the liquid does not run off.

As well as using the pad for all my make up essentials and nail emergancies I have also used the pad for first aid needs. My friends little boy came over and fell and cut his knee and I had no hesitation in using the cotton wool pad to dry the area out and use the pads to apply some antiseptic ointment to the area.

Tesco states that the pad is mde from soft and absorbent 100% cotton and are suitable for even the most sensitive types of skin. As I do suffer from dry skin form time to time in my opinion I can say that the cotton wool has never affected my skin in a bad way.

In summary, cotton wool is cotton wool and from all the different brands that I have purchased I have never found a great deal of difference between them but I have never had any complaints over the Tesoc Cotton wool pads and would recomended them to anyone. 5 out of 5 from me.

Thanks for reading.

Summary: A handy pack of pads that I can't do without, Try them!
