Advantages: Excellent value for money. Great snap shut lid to prevent them drying out
Disadvantages: Sometimes the top wipes can be very dry
Being a first time mum I found trying to choose the right products for my child quite daunting, standing in the supermarket looking at the vast choice of baby wipes on offer was mind boggling, do I get sensitive, Aloe and vitamin E, extra care, skin care, fragranced or fragrance free, then you have Huggies, pampers, Tesco, simple, Johnsons etc.
In the end I opted for the packet which look familiar, I had seen it several times in my brothers house so figured if they use them on their kids they must be ok. The packet I went for were the Tesco My Baby Ultra Soft Wipes.
There are two choices of wipe in this range, one is a green packet which is the scented wipes and the other is a blue packet which is the non scented wipes. I opted for the none scented (no particular reason for this they just happened to be above the scented ones). They come in a plastic packet with a hard plastic flip lid on the top (this clips shut to prevent the wipes from drying out), this is far better than Pampers and Huggies which just have a stick tab to cover the hole.
I find the wipes very good to use, they are just the right size to enable you to wipe once then fold it over and wipe again, they also have a moisturizing lotion in them (plus extracts of aloe vera and camomile) so they leave your child's bum nice and soft. I also use these wipes at meal times to wipe my babies face. The only thing I would say they as to how they could improve these wipes is to make them a little thicker.
Also I find with wipes (not just these but most of the big brands to ) is because they are stacked one way up for quite a long time quite a few of the top wipes are very dry as all the lotion etc has gone to the bottom of the packet. I get round this by buying 3 packets at a time and storing them in my cupboard upside down, sounds daft I know but it does seem to work.
Each packet contains 80 soft and gentle wipes, one packet cost 98 pence and Tesco always have them on offer, buy three for £2.70 (only a saving of 24 pence I know but it all counts). I think the Tesco wipes are fantastic value for money especially when you compare the price of these to Huggies £2.44 for 72 wipes and Pampers £2.49 for 72 wipes, you can get three packs of the Tesco wipes for nearly the same price as one pack of Huggies or Pampers.
These wipes do exactly what they are supposed to do, then clean my babies bum a treat (even the real nasty ones). I have now been using these since she was born (5 months now) and there has not been any sign of a rash or any form of redness/soreness whatsoever. I doubt very much that I will ever use any of the big brand wipes again as these are far better value for money and do the job just fine.
Summary: A excellent wipe that is also very cheap
