Advantages: Do the job. Cheap.

Baby wipes. One of those consumables that you tend to get through a lot of when you have little children and that can get quite expensive! Obviously it's not very environmentally friendly, but I'm afraid with some things convenience is more important to me when I have 2 toddlers!

These are the Tesco Own Brand baby wipes, I buy the fragrance free as I don't like the smell of the fragranced ones and don't see the point of putting extra chemicals on my kids just to make their bums smell nice!

A pack of these costs about 99p, which for 80 wipes is over a penny each. That sounds like rather a lot for soemthing that gets chucked in the bin after one use, but name brand alternatives can cost as much as 2-3 times this so when you compare them these are pretty cheap. you can also buy them in bulk, 5 packs for £4 (so pretty much buy 4 get one free) which I sometimes do.

The wipes are more than adequate for the job they do, my boys don't have particularly sensitive skin so I don't find the need to buy posh wipes impregnated with all kinds of plant extracts. The wipes are strong and don't come apart (unlike some more expensive ones) when using, they are big enough for messy nappy changes.
I mostly use these for nappy changes and wiping sticky hands and faces. They are an invaluable addition to the baby bag and I also like to keep a pack in the car, one in the bathroom and several around the house.

These wipes have many uses -

If I have only used one to clean slightly dirty hands I like to get the most out of it and give the table a wipe too.
They are good for dusting/cleaning the top of the tv etc.
You can clean your dashboard with them.
I use them to take off my make up.


I would recommend these baby wipes to any parent and I really do not see the need to buy the name brand ones unless you are really worried about your child's sensitive skin/nappy rash. I have never found these to be at all irritating and they do their job fantastically.
