Advantages: Works
Disadvantages: None
When it comes to cleansing I am a real demon about it. Possessing sensitive skin and being a heavy make-up wearer I really do like to make sure I always remove it all but I also cleanse and tone first thing in the morning and at night also (even if not wearing make-up). So when I saw this in my local Tesco store priced at 92p instead of it's usual £1.83 price tag I couldn't resist trying it out!
The Packaging....
White and turquoise 200ml bottle (turquoise lid/cap at the top which conceals a small hole to the top of it). The writing on the bottle is in turquoise and white and on the front I'm told it is Tesco 'New Improved' Purifying Cleansing Lotion which is for sensitive skin and is fragrance free, dermatologically tested and mild and gentle. On the back of the bottle I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use are given, warning and ingredients are given, contact details for Tesco are there and finally the size is stated (as I've told you already) and there is a bar-code on there. Simple looking bottle, that doesn't look cheap and actually appears functional more than anything else so I felt confident buying it.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle....
The Tesco sensitive skin range has been specially created to care for your delicate skin. Free from harsh ingredients and unnecessary additives, the formulas are packed with caring actives to help sooth sensitive skins.
Tesco sensitive skin purifying cleansing lotion has been developed to gently ease away impurities and make-up including waterproof mascara - without upsetting the skin's delicate balance. Formulated with a skin friendly blend of calming Allantoin, conditioning Pro-Vitamin B5 and moisturising Glycerin, it will leave skin feeling cleansed, soft and conditioned. No colour, no fragrance just soft happy skin!
Directions For Use....
Use the tips of your fingers to delicately massage into the face and neck using gentle upward strokes. Remove with cotton wool or make-up remover wipes. Follow with the sensitive skin soothing toning lotion. Use morning and evening as part of your sensitive skin 3-step cleanse, tone, moisturise regime.
Using It....
Well I use cotton wool as it's less messy than using the lotion with fingertips and making mud pies on the face when removing make up lol.
The lotion itself is white, fairly thin and glossy in it's appearance. I dispense a small amount of the unfragranced, slightly greasy lotion onto my cotton wool pad (or cotton wool) and gently wipe over my face until I'm satisfied my face and neck is clean. A little goes a long way and it really is soothing and fuss free to use.
I get through a couple of cotton wool pads and this stuff really does gently lift away grease, grime and make up with ease. It removes glitter products and waterproof mascara with no rubbing or big effort required. It doesn't upset my sensitive skin and I haven't had any skin problems aggigated by this stuff. I really like it's mild and gentle formulation.
I'm left with a clean face that is smooth and soft and not greasy or dried up and it's left feeling and looking fresh and clean. It's up to you if you tone afterwards, personally I do just to make sure there is no residue left on my sensitive skin and to feel extra fresh but as I say that's up to you and you don't have to.
Verdict....
A really good skin cleanser, I find this simple to use and it works really well indeed. I like not having to scrub at my face to remove ten ton of muck off it and I like the way my skin feels after using it too!
A great buy that lasts ages (cos you don't need much at all) and it's reliable no matter what job it's faced with!
Usually priced £1.83 only in Tesco!
Summary: A great every-day product!
