Advantages: Cheap, effective.

I have always preferred the cotton pad and cream remover when tackling my make up at the end of the day, however when I was browsing the beauty isle in my local tescos for a replacement make up remover I saw these tucked away in the corner of the bottom shelf and at 26 pence for a pack of 25 I thought why not?

*PACKAGING*

They have new packaging from that above, still tesco value but a blue front with a faded white sun, reminds me of a summer sky, with a smaller tesco value logo. They open as most wipes do, with a sticky plastic resealable label.

*PRODUCT*

The wipes are square and white with a slightly porous look and a smooth feel. They are very nicely damp, some of the cheap £1 pack wipes from various smaller chemists I find to be too dry. In fact some of the more expensive branded ones I find similarly dry. The scent is fresh, slightly floral and mild. It doesn't linger on your skin after use.

At the risk of seeming like I'm throwing labels around, I am a goth/alternative/metalhead/punk (pick whichever you want to) and when I wear make up I wear an OBSCENE amount of it, we're talking full face, mega eye liner and eye shadow, thick mascara, lots of face powder. The reason I tell you this is to put into perspective my suitability to review a make up remover, and just why I've given this product a full 5 stars.

Normally I require around 3 wipes to remove all of my make up, which is why I prefer cotton wool and cream remover, it works out too expensive to use branded face wipes at nearly 10p per wipe. At just over 1p per wipe, I can use these without feeling a pinch. 3p vs 30p, even if these wipes were poor I'd still choose them! Luckily, they're anything but.

The wipe removes with ease even waterproof mascara, of which I'm a huge fan. I remove my eye make up first with a slight rubbing motion, this can be too harsh for some people and even for my skin with some wipes, but with these my skin wasn't irritated at all. I use two wipes for my eyes, one to get rid of the bulk of the make up, the second to remove any residual traces. Then a third wipe for the rest of my face. Because they are so soft, they glide over the skin even with heavy use. My skin was left feeling really clean and cool after use.

Another really good thing is the packaging, some face wipe labels become useless after pulling out a few wipes. I found the stickiness wasn't affected at all using these and even after at the last wipe it was perfectly sealed and the wipe was damp.

Are they as good as other wipes? In my opinion yes, better than most by quality and better than all by price.
