Advantages: Fresh, full of moisture, does the job
Disadvantages: Don't expect them to replace a good cleanser
I usually buy facial wipes from Wilkinson where one of the 3 or 4 own brands wipes is always on 'buy one get one free' for 99p. I don't bother with the facial wipes that cost a fortune and claim to do ten wonderful things at once to your skin because they don't, you are never going to get the same effect as a facial by rubbing a bit of cloth across your face.
For that reason, bog standard ones do me. I just use them for a quick refresh of my face on who have on standby when I do my make up to clear up any mistakes I make whilst holding a mascara and trying to apply whilst still fast asleep. I use a proper cleanser and toner to take my make up off at the end of the day, as facial wipes will never do quite as good a job.
I'd never quite been able to beat Wilko's value at 50p a pack though, until I visited Tesco and spied their Tesco Value wipes for just 26p for a pack of 25. True these are bog standard, in the blue and white Tesco Value uniform, still 26p! (The packaging has changed slightly since dooyoo's picture)
The wipes come, as most do in a plastic packet with a hole in the top, not unlike a tissue box, to dispense the wipes. There is a resealable piece of sticky plastic over the whole to stick back down after use so the wipes don't dry out. The wipes as thin but soft and full of moisture, I was worried that because they were so cheap they may have scrimped on the lotion and would be a bit dry, but I was impressed. They worked well at shifting some stray mascara and generally refreshing my face when I got home from work.
The resealable plastic seemed to work well too and every time I've gone to use them ,they are as moist as the first time I opened them.
I sometimes take wipes on holiday in my day bag or on a day out too, for freshening up, it may sound extravagant but these value ones are actually cheaper than buying wet wipes!
I can't rave about these and say their a wonder product, if you use facial wipes like I do and not as a cleanser, they are a good quality basic product at an unbeatable price. A must for any make up fan.
Summary: A bargain basic

- 04/10/09 These would be good for travel - I hate doing without or having to cart a big pack when I'm only away for a night or two. |

- 03/10/09 I'll have to try these, been trying to find some cheap face wipes for ages, cheapest I found was 3 packs for £1 in body care but then I have to pay for car parking so costs a fortune really! Great review x |
