Advantages: Ultra soft great value for money and sensitive to the skin
Disadvantages: Cheaper wipes tear, and stick together making you use more quicker
Tescos sell two kinds of their own baby wipes. The Ultra soft in fragrance, or fragrance free, which are in a purple packet and about £2.15 and the cheaper ones which are in a light green packet sold for about £1.59. The Ultra soft wipes are great cheaper than the leading brands they save you money as they are just as good if not better. They are soft and even though my children have sensitive skin have never irritated them. I bought the fragranced ones by mistake once and the children were fine. However, the cheaper ones are terrible. They are not soft they are much harder and full of the soapy substance. They tear before you can get them out of the packet which is really frustrating as usually a mother needs to get the wipes out of the packet fairly easily and quickly. It doesn't help if you are fiddling with them as they have torn and then find when you do get hold of the wipe half the packet comes out too as they stick together. These are a very bad design and although they are cheaper you end up using far more of them just to get them out of the packet. You probably end up paying far more in the long run. They don't appear to be that sensitive on the skin either as my daughter immediately became sore when I used them on her. So Well done Tescos for your Ultra Soft range but the cheaper wipes really need some more work done on them before I buy them again!

Moatymoo - 24/10/01 I did call them and make my comments and feelings known. They were very helpful and have sent some vouchers through to me. They are currently looking into the matter. Waiting to hear! |
