Advantages: Does all that it claims, lasts a long time, not tested on animals

Disadvantages: Quite expensive.

Aloe Soothing Day Cream, from the Body Shop, is currently £7.04 for 50ml and usually costs £8.80. Sometimes, it also comes in a small 15 ml tub, as a freebie with other products when you spend over a certain amount in store. It is suitable for sensitive skin and for use on the face and neck during the day time to moisturise the skin, keep it "soft and supple" and protect your skin from irritants.

The packaging is very similar to that of the night version of this product: The tub is light green in colour, with a clear screw-top lid. The text on the labels is green, while the labels are a green/white colour. Even though this packaging is quite plain, it is still eye-catching and attractive.

The product is simple to use: in the morning, after cleansing, apply to face and neck. It feels great on the skin and does leave it feeling "smooth and supple" as it claims, as well as very moisturised. It isn't greasy and doesn't cause outbreaks of spots, so obviously doesn't clog pores. The product doesn't really have a fragrance. Nothing has irritated the skin on my face whilst using this product, so its claim to protect your skin from irritants seems to be true. I find it goes very well with the night version of this product.

Even though the pot is only 50ml, the consistency of the cream is quite thick, so you don't have to use much of the product each application and it makes the pot last a long time.

This product contains natural ingredients: Community Trade aloe vera gel (to moisturise), sesame oil (also to moisturise, plus to strengthen the skin's natural defences) and oat extract (to minimise the signs of sensitive skin, as well as being an antioxidant). This means not only is it great for your skin, it's also good for workers as it contains a Community Trade product. As it is a Body Shop product, it has not been tested on animals.

In conclusion, this is a good product which does what it claims to. I would recommend it, especially to be used with the night soothing cream as well, as it moistures skin very well and succeeds in stopping irritation. Even though it is slightly expensive, it is of a high enough quality to warrant this.

Summary: Does what it days on the tub!
