Advantages: Leaves skin lovely and soft
Disadvantages: Bit pricey
Continuing with my reviews of The Body Shop products, this is another great product - Aloe Soothing Day Cream.
~~First Impressions~~
As this is another member of the Aloe Vera collection, it has the trademark pale green colours on the packaging. The actual container itself is a small green plastic tub with a screw on/off lid. There is also a small plastic cover over the moisturiser when you buy it, however I found this a bit fussy to keep taking off and therefore put this in the bin - after I had taken all the cream off it!
On the plastic tub there is a white label with all the necessary information on and pale green colouring, it also informs you of all the main ingredients.
~~The Product~~
The actual product itself is a moisturiser cream, whilst they recommend you use it twice a day I have found that once in the morning is plenty to keep my skin hydrated.
The cream contains three main ingredients all of which claim to hold soothing and hydrating properties, these ingredients are Aloe Vera, Sesame Oil and Oat Extract. The oat extract claims to also help reduce redness and prevent rashes - which I confirm does work. I am very prone to having blotchy skin, but since using a variety of The Body Shop products (including this one) I have not experienced these outbursts.
Every morning I put a small dap of the moisturiser on my face and neck and the one thing I have noticed with this is that a little bit really does go a long way - so whilst the pot may seem very small for the price it does last a long time.
The main problem I have had in the past with moisturisers is that I often feel it leaves my skin greasy, however with this it is the complete opposite. My skin feels smooth and sticky-free. It's a perfect base to put on under my make without leaving me shiny faced.
My skin is always left glowing when using this moisturiser and I often receive compliments on my complexion when wearing it - although I do believe this is a result of the various Body Shop products I use on my face.
~~Price~~
When I bought this, it was a 50ml tub at around £8.50, however The Body Shop do seem to have some special offers on at the moment and when I checked their website it was priced at £7.04.
This might still seem a bit pricey but it is a great quality item, especially for those who struggle to find facial products that don't cause reactions to their skin.
When I buy these products I do tend to try and buy them in a set as they often do work out cheaper, but obviously the offers are forever changing.
Overall, as with most Body Shop products it is a bit on the pricey side, but in my opinion definitely worth the extra money - as the alternatives leave me with blotchy and dry skin (not a good look!).
Summary: Worth the extra money
