Advantages: Smells good and contains vitamins.
Disadvantages: Is more expensive than others, not many really.
My other half gave me a box set of The Body Shop products. It was a black wash bag with some shower gel, moisturiser, facial scrub and a tube of face wash. I will review the face wash today.
Before meeting 'er indoors I didn't buy special products for my face, I would just use good old soap and water. I can hear the women gasping in disbelief, whilst shaking their heads. I just didn't see the point, it did the same job, made my face clean!
After much moaning and nagging I started to use her cleanser and did notice a difference. Ever since I have used whatever cleanser she buys to keep my face baby soft and nicely clean. She changed from the Avon one she was using and I didn't like her new choice so she even bought me some more of the one I liked from Avon. Then this set came along.
I was doubtful that I would like it as I was so pleased with the way my skin felt with the Avon cleanser I was using previously but I tried it.
This little tube is from The Body Shops 'For men' range. They sell lots of products in the range so that us manly men don't have to smell of flowers. It is only small, containing 50ml, surely that can't last very long. It has a flip top lid and the tube is dark cream, nothing too impressive to be honest.
The flip top lid makes it easy to dispense the liquid and keeps it mess free.
It is a clear liquid with the slightest green hue to it. This is rather watery compared with others I have used but that doesn't really make much difference to its usage. I don't need much to get a good lather from it and do my entire face and neck area.
Rinsing doesn't take long it actually washes off very easily.
My skin is left very clean and feeling refreshed.
My skin stays feeling clean for a good period of time after using this each morning. 'Er indoors says that my face smells nice after using this face wash too.
I don't have sensitive skin and it isn't dry. This face wash hasn't made my skin dry or tight and it hasn't caused any kind of reaction but those with sensitive skin might have a reaction to it, as with all products.
The tube says that it contains multi vitamins A, E and B5 as well as seaweed to purify and condition. Didn't change the condition of my skin, are they just false promises to sell more tubes? I don't know but they haven't harmed my skin so it doesn't matter. Maybe they do help your skin but only over a long period of time.
I have checked the individual price of this item on The Body Shops website which can be used to purchase from (www.thebodyshop.co.uk) and a 100ml tube costs £6. I don't think that is bad value. The fact that I don't use much each time means this tube is lasting well.
Will I buy this off my own back, no probably not but that is just because I never buy face wash for myself. If it is bought for me again I will certainly use it. Would it be my first choice, no. I like the Avon one that I had gotten used to using. I have used a few other face washes that I have preferred to this one but didn't dislike it, therefore I am going to give it three stars, as it is just OK!
Summary: I wouldn't go out of my way for it but would use it if it was a gift.
