Firstly I have to apologise for yet another Body Shop review, but as you may have noticed I highly recommend many of their products and this once is no exception either.
This is yet another one of the body shops greatest products and what make it that bit extra special is the fact that is produced and sold for a very good cause.
BACK GROUND INFORMATION
The body shop and MTV have both teamed up together for this great cause, it has been aimed at teenagers to help raise awareness of the virus HIV and AIDS.
The body shop have created this limited edition Guarana lip butter to help the cause and MTV are helping to advertise the awareness cause staying alive, this is to show young teenagers that it is a problem and make them aware of what is going on in the world.
Each lip butter costs 5.00 and 2.80 for that goes to the awareness staying alive fund.
THE PRODUCT
The Guarana lip butter is a limited edition and has been so popular that is can be very hard to get hold of now, not only has it appealed to everyone who has been aware or the awareness cause but it has also become very popular for its sheer quality and very cheap price.
This lip butter is very similar to a lip gloss as it add shine and intensely hydrates your lips leaving them looking and feeling fantastic, not only do your lips look great they also smell nice as it gives off a really fruity aroma that also gives this lip butter a nice taste.
Unlike most lip balms it is not at all greasy and will not sit in between cracked lips, but it will condition the lips and repair and damaged dry lips. You can use this as a conditioning balm or a lip gloss it is ideal for both situations.
This comes in a 10ml round pot with a screw off lid, I have to say the packaging is a lot nicer that the standard body shop lip butters, it is an illuminous green jar with a bright red lid. Even the product sticker is amazing showing a luscious pair of red lips and all the logos, like MTV and the body shop.
INGREDIENTS
This lip butter is made with a Guarana extract that gives it the rich fruity smell and taste, shea butter (which is one of the ingredients associated with the body shops community trade program) and organic bees wax.
All of these ingredients are natural products and it has not been tested on animals.
MY OPINION
I have really perfected my pout with this butter, not only has it moisturised my lips but leaves them feeling nice and soft. I have found this to be great in both hot and cold weather as it prevents and sun or cold damage to my lips.
I love that fact that buying this has at least contributed to the staying alive awareness fund, even if it is only 2.80 towards it. I felt like I was making a difference and I was buying a product that stands up to my values.
My lips stay moisturised for hours and that is after both eating and drinking, unlike most butter this seems to stay on and I only need to reapply now and then, yet the lip butter is very light and not at all greasy on my lips.
If you really want to help raise awareness then go and buy yourself one of these lip butters for the bargain price of 5.00, which in my opinion is very reasonable compared to the prices on other body shop lip care products.
