Advantages: Keeps skin fresh, smell, minimizes pores, matte finish, does everything it claims
Disadvantages: Price
Whilst at a Body Shop party I was shown the seaweed range of the Body Shop's skin care section. I tried out this toner on my hand and noticed the lovely smell.. so I bought it. I was also interested in the seaweed range because it's designed for combination skin. Even though my skin is more oily, sometimes I do get dry flaky patches around my nose, so I thought products for combination skin would cure this.
*Packaging*
The Body Shop's Seaweed Clarifying Toner comes in a see-through 200ml bottle with a flip-top lid. The bottle is partly covered with a blue sticker with all the info we need to know such as what the product does, who it's suitable for, ingredients etc. The packaging seems pretty plain, but I really like it. It looks quite posh sitting on the shelf with my other seaweed facial products. =P
*Using The Product*
You just use this like you'd use any other toner- after cleansing, before moisturising, apply a small amount onto a cotton pad. The lady at the Body Shop party recommended that you should apply it to a damp cotton pad so that the toner isn't totally absorbed into the pad, and just stays on the top, because if the cotton pad soaks most of it up, you'll use you're bottle up quicker. It's a good tip, but I don't bother with it because sometimes I'm just too lazy to walk from my bedroom to the bathroom to wet the cotton pad. Anyway, I really like using this toner because when you use it you get that gorgeous seaweed smell. You also get a slight tingling sensation when using this, and I love it when facial products do that because it feels like it's doing something good to your skin. I like the fact that you don't need much toner to cover you're face. I only needed about 3 small droplets on my cotton pad and it covered everywhere including my forehead.
*The Results*
After using this my skin felt lovely and fresh and very, very clean. The appearance of my pores were smaller and my face looked matte, but not too dry. My skin was lovely and soft and smelt nice.
*Conclusion*
I would definitely recommend this toner to anyone with combination skin and even people with oily skin like me. It's the best toner I have ever used, although it's quite pricey at £6.35 because I have used 200ml toners before for less than half the price. However, little really does go a long way. If you are not sure if you want to buy it (because it's awful when you buy an expensive product and you don't like it), I would recommend you buy the minature version (60ml for £3.00). These are designed for travel but they are great for testing out the product. After trying a 60ml bottle I can assure that you'll be straight back for a 200ml version.
Summary: An amazing toner!
