Advantages: Handy sized pack, smells lovely, absorbs excess oil

Disadvantages: One often isn't enough, expensive.

I had never experienced problematic oily skin until I had a fringe cut into my hair and ever since then, my forehead has become akin to a chip pan causing much shininess and spots (booo!). I wasn't looking for anything particular to cure this as a wipe down with a tissue usually does a reasonable job (i'm really making myself sound attractive aren't I?!) but on wandering round the Body Shop one day I spotted these little beauties: Tea Tree Blotting Tissues.

I'm a huge fan of Tea Tree oil and its healing qualities so figured I'd give these a go and see if they helped keep the oil at bay. I'm not really bothered by the shine as the offending fringe hides it but the excess oil is causing too many spots and I hoped that these tissues would help to blot it away.

In a pack you get 65 green tissues infused with tea tree leaf oil and limonene which gives a citrus scent. The packaging is a small cardboard box which folds open and closed and the papers are easily dispensed by pulling one out leaving the next one sticking out ready for use (reminds me of cigarette papers). The tissues themselves are small, perhaps just bigger than a matchbox, and the only way I can describe them is like slightly waxy tissue paper. They are scented with the refreshing smell of tea tree oil and the limonene.

Swipe the tissue around your oily areas and you will see on the tissue what has been absorbed as the oil makes the tissues slightly transparent. One tissue isn't enough for my oily forehead so I do have to use a couple.

I paid £3.90 for a pack in the Body Shop which is rather pricey, works out at 6p per tissue, but they are handy to store in your handbag or make-up bag and they do work well. I have previously tried blotting papers from the Body Shop which have powder on them but I found they left my skin feeling claggy and blocked. The Tea Tree papers simply absorb the excess oil and they can be flushed away or thrown away.

Although they are expensive, I do like this product and haven't found anything similar elsewhere on the market.

Summary: Does what it says on the tin, er, box.
