Advantages: Biodegradable, recyclable, not tested on animals, help prevent blemishes.

Disadvantages: The smell and price

Christmas and the sales have ended up leaving me with loads of reviews to do, especially as I have so many more Body Shop products now. As if I didn't have enough before!

When my last lot of face wipes ran out I popped into Bath and bought some more from the Body Shop store but I didn't go for my usual Vitamin E ones, I thought I would try out the Tea Tree Oil version and see if maybe they would help to clear up my unruly skin.

My skin issues are mainly down to hormones so I don't know why I try and solve it with lotions and potions but a girl can try, right?!

The Body Shops range of Tea Tree Oil products are for oil/blemished skin. Well I kind of fit into that as I have combination skin but recently the oily T zone has been worse than normal so perhaps this may help a little.

I also think that where I have been wearing make up more often than usual what with the parties and visits there are to do over Christmas and New Year that the lack of air getting to my skin and the chemicals I am putting on my skin have not helped.

The pack is sleek and stylish in appearance, in my opinion at least. It is a bright mint green plastic packet with a black strange shaped sticker on the front, or top depending on how you look at it, the rest of this side is left blank with all the information on the back/bottom.

The sticker has the Body Shop logo and Tea Tree symbol on it and;
TEA TREE OIL
DEEP CLEANSING FACE WIPES
OILY/BLEMISHED SKIN. One-step multi-action deep cleansing and toning, to unclog pores, remove excess oils and impurities.
25 wipes
18cm (7.09in) x 20cm (7.9in)
All the above is also repeated in French too.

There is a security seal sticker on there too so that you can see if the packet has been open or not as you don't want to buy an open one that someone has had their fingers in or where one wipe may be missing do you?!

The back has information in several languages
100% biodegradable wipes. With triple action community trade tea tree oil and salicylic acid. If product gets in eyes rinse with clean water. Not for use around the eye area. Do not dispose by flushing. For external use only. Reseal after use.
Made in Italy

Opening the wipes is easy, you just pull back the sticker and pull out a wipe, the sticker will then stick back in place to keep the wipes from drying out. I have found that this did stay relatively sticky compared with other packs I have tried over the years and although I only have one wipe left I don't now have to put something on top of it like I have with other packs, there have even been similar products that after a few times of sticking the opening back to the packet it has been that bad that I had to put them in a bag but not with this one.

The wipes themselves are an average size for this kind of product and are very soft, they feel more like fabric than a lot of wipes do. Where they are soft it doesn't feel in any way scratchy when you wipe them over your face which is another problem I have found with other types of face wipes before now. They are not overly wet but enough for you to feel that they are doing their job.

I tend to use these every night if I have been wearing make up or not. I still user toner afterwards, at the moment I am using the Vitamin E toner from The Body Shop. I know that these are meant to cleanse and tone but I am a creature of habit.

One wipe is enough to get all my make up off including my rather stubborn mascara and leave my skin feeling able to breathe again, that said I do still find traces of make up on the cotton wool after using my toner so maybe if you were going to use these and not tone after you would be better off using two of them.

Tea Tree Oil is great for oily and blemished skin for several reasons. It has antibacterial qualities to it, which will help keep any bacteria on the skin under control, so help prevent further breakouts and help to calm any spots that are already there. I tend to use the pure oil on a cotton bud after plucking my eyebrows, to try and prevent any problems and to soothe the redness. I find it really helps. If you wax these wipes may be good to use after.

You will have noticed by now that I have yet to mention the cost and smell of these wipes, that is because these are the two drawbacks.

The fact that these are Tea Tree Oil based meant that I knew before buying them that I wasn't going to been all that keen on the scent as I am not a fan of the smell of Tea Tree Oil anyway but not to the point where I wont use it, just that I would prefer something else. Tea Tree Oil has a very distinctive scent and I am sure you all know what that is, a fresh, well, tree smell. These contain peppermint oil as well to give that tingly feeling which is nice and refreshing and also lifts the scent of these a little to the point where I almost like it but still don't.

The price is a little steep but I can't say much as it is the same as it costs for my usual wipes. For just 25 wipes it costs £5.50. Yes I know that is a lot isn't it! That works out at 22p a wipe. That said there are three reasons why I can justify paying that to myself:
These wipes are completely biodegradable so are more environmentally friendly than some.
The packaging is recyclable.
They have not been tested on animals.

These wipes work well and take make up off with ease, they aren't so wet that you end up with it dripping down yourself while cleansing, they are four in one so save on time and possibly money (unless you are like me and still tone anyway!), they are biodegradable, recyclable and not tested on animals which is great for your conscience as well, have antibacterial and soothing properties and might help clear up problematic skin.

Putting up with the smell and price is easy when you read the list above.

Will I buy them again, yes, I already have! They haven't really made any noticeable difference to my skin but I do like them, and more than I do the Vitamin E ones that I was using.

Overall I am going to give them four out of five stars but I wish I could give four and a half stars.

The Body Shop offers a large range of Tea Tree products for oily skin so a whole skincare regime can be bought from the range.

Body Shop stores are all around the country and if you would like to find out more about this product or any other or to find out where your nearest store is then take a look at their website www.thebodyshop.co.uk where you can also buy from too.

Summary: A little pricey but worth it, they are better than the Vitamin E wipes The Body Shop sell too.
