Advantages: Leaves skin looking and feeling amazing

Disadvantages: Might be expensive for some people

I have always been a fan of The Body Shop although I have found that the older I get, the less I tend to treat myself. I was Christmas shopping last weekend (early I know but I plan to be organised this year!) when I came across a product that caught my attention - the warming mineral mask!

Packaging
The warming mineral mask comes in a plastic tube with a clear flip top lid. The tube is a pale grey colour with a darker green section which contains the writing. The writing reads "The Body Shop" "Warming Mineral mask" suitable for all skin types. Also written on the tube is "'with Kaolin clay to deep cleanse and a thermal complex to warm the skin. No added colour or fragrance. The plastic tube is flexible so the mask can be squeezed out easily and the lid can be removed to ensure you can squeeze out the last traces of the mask. The product is about 5 inches size, and 100ml in size.

Cost
As already mentioned, I bought this product last weekend and it cost me £7.30 which to be honest, is a little more than I would have liked to have spent but if I spent over £12 I got another item free so I decided to take the plunge, having already decided to buy a £5 item!

Product Claims
According to the packaging: This self-warming mineral mask combines Kaolin clay and essential oils to draw out impurities and deep cleanse the skin. Zinc oxide soothes and protects whilst glycerine helps soften and prevent moisture loss. This product also contains algae, Vitamin E and extracts of cinnamon, ginger and zedoary.

Applying The Mask
The mask itself is a grey/light green colour and has a fairly thick. Almost tacky consistency. To be honest, the mask doesn't really have much of a scent, if I had to place the smell, I would say it smells similar to clay and also smell slightly of some type of essential oil. Although the scent is faint, it is still pleasant. There are instructions for applying the mask on the back of the tube and it's all pretty straight forward to be honest. One thing you need to remember is that warming masks are activated by water so you need to apply the mask to a cleansed, wet face.

To apply the mask, you simply squeeze some of the mask onto your fingers and apply it to your damp face, spreading evenly, and being careful to avoid your eyes and lips. Due to the thick consistency of the mask, you do need to squeeze with a firm hand to actually get the product out of the tube.

As you apply to mask, you can feel the warming sensation spread across your face. It is such a pleasant sensation, and although it does seem to become quite warm, it does not reach a temperature that is uncomfortable. The warming sensation only lasts as long as you are spreading the mask across your face. Once the movement of the mask stops, so does the warming sensation.

I tend to leave the mask on for 5 - 10 minutes. Oddly enough, the mask doesn't appear to 'set' it just remains the same consistency which means rinsing the mask of is very easy. Personally, I wet a flannel and ran it across my face a few times and then washed the flannel out in the sink - simple.

Summary
I was really impressed with the results I got from the product. Quite often when I use face masks, my skin is left feeling tight and I end up wishing I hadn't bothered using the product. This product left my skin feeling exceptionally soft, to the point where it actually felt really soft to touch as well. It looks really healthy and hydrated and certainly gave me a 'glow'. I have smile lines round my mouth and this mask also seems to make them fad somehow.

I would highly recommend this mask. Although I initially thought that £7 was expensive, I can see that this one tube will last me a number of months because you only need to use the smallest amount and I will only be using it once or twice a week as recommended. The results from this mask are absolutely amazing, I'm certainly hooked. Another great thing about this product is that it is not tested on animals, big thumbs up from me!

Summary: I am hooked, an amazing product!

I have used this before and I also think it is great, feels really weird when you put it on at first but then you get used to it. Good review :)
