Advantages: lubricates
Disadvantages: price
Am I turning into a girl using this stuff?
Priced at around £1 for a cute metal tin containing 20g of vaseline, the Lip therapy rosy lips vaseline is a handy product to have. I got into it myself when I found my wife's, andI have to say I often pop one in my bag.
The product is for dried or sore skin, and it creates a protective, lubricant barrier than prevents the air or wind getting to the sore area. I tend to use it when I get a bad cold, and my nose gets dry and cracked from blowing it so much. It does a brilliant job of soothing the soreness, and also makes it a lot nicer the next time I blow my nose as the tissue doesn't graze my poor skin.
Price-wise, I guess it's a bit expensive, but I think you're paying a lot for the cute little tin, which looks the part if nothing else. In fact, this brings me to the only bad bit about the product: it's too feminine! I can't help but feel a bit embarrassed to carry one of these around - is it just me? Maybe they need to do some marketting to men as I feel the whole 'cute' element is out to get the women interested.
The product itself is red and slimy, but if you rub it in well to the skin it all but becomes invisible.
Unlike the plain one, this has rose and almond oil in it, which gives it a nice floral smell. I have to say that only makes it more feminie but hey, I'm in touch with that side.
If you liked it, there are other varieties, such as flavoured ones, or the 'Aloe Vera' one (the green one).
The other down-side is that the size of the pot means it's only good for small and infrequent use, so if you're looking for vaseline in larger quantities and for greater use, then try buying one of those big old pots that guy in Kill Bill uses to, erm, well yeah!
In conclusion, an adequately priced vaseline that does the job, but is too heavily marketted at women due to it cuteness, and could do with toughening up a bit to get the men interested.
Summary: do it

- 18/06/09 I too have a pink pot (stole it off the Mrs) and wish she had bought a blue one instead.... ;-) |

- 17/06/09 The original blue and Aloe infused green tins are not as girly and do the job just as well! Rebecca Xx |

- 17/06/09 But does it make your lips rosy red - or at least a little pink? I'm picturing you in the classroom with red lips! |
