I was out to coffee with my friend when she pulled out this cute little pink tin of lip balm. I've never been tempted to buy the standard version of Vaseline, but the pink colour made me extremely curious. So when I saw it at Boots for £1.79 I just had to have it. Vaseline lip therapy - Rosy lips - is made in Norway by Unilever.

The packaging:
It comes in a cute little pink and white 20g tin in the same retro design as the original Vaseline lip balm. I would not feel embarrassed pulling this out and using it, it is just so appealing! The tin is very easy to open but remains closed while in your handbag. Unfortunately the Vaseline will melt in hot environments (like in your pocket), so try to keep it in a cool place or else it could get quite messy.

The product:
Open up the tin to reveal the typical goopy Vaseline texture, but with a lovely opaque pink colour like a rose in bloom. This product has rose and almond oil in addition to the petroleum jelly. The petroleum jelly is not absorbed and helps keep your lips natural moisture in and protects from the outside drying elements. The rose and almond oil help moisturise your lips. To round it off, it contains colours and perfumes. The product is easy to apply due to the easily spreadable consistency, but as I said before - watch out in hot weather as it can get too soft.

The result:
My lips have a lovely rosy pink tint to them, slightly lighter than what is in the tin. They are not shiny and sparkly; it is most definitely a very natural finish. You do not need a mirror to apply this as the finish is so natural, it doesn't really matter if you go over your lip border.

The petroleum jelly provides a great barrier to the elements, and the rose and almond oil help keep my lips soft. Unfortunately, it comes off extremely easily. I have to frequently reapply. But at the low price, I don't really care - it just gives me more chances to pull out the tin!

It smells and tastes like roses. It is not too strong, however if you do not like a rose scent then this is not the product for you.

Conclusion:
Natural finish with a hint of pink, cute tin and low price - what more could you want?
